I am a bit in awe.
One teensy, weensy change. Lost a minipriest and take those 35 points and consolidate them into a company commander .. you are now only 10 points short of having enough to make him into Col. Straken, and you can get those 10 points by changing the 2 lascannon to missle launchersin your lascannon hws. Its a negligible loss of ffirepower in exchange for a .. well, a baby space marine captain who gives out a minipriest's buff. Now your +1 attacks STACK in the center of your army, rather than being a wider, but less intense, zone. That is probably simply just my style and all., just like running 2 ogryn bodygaurds instead of a 3 man bullygryn unit is. You actually are harder to kill if even 1 infantryman is between those two and the enemy, and a lot of your officers nearby stand to be protected in a sniper heavy game. I get you are going more for a balanced thing, probably bully one in a crassus here, and bully 2 in a crassus there, with a priest backing each up. Its a stylistic thing, I tend to put everything into the heavy point.

When running catachans, I try to give a few flamers to infantry, at any price, because those flamers can "burn them out" and strip cover away from an enemy unit, allowing EVERYTHING to fire at it without benefit of a cover save. All them lasguns become much more effective (ok, so twice wimpy is still crap, but its a lot of them) if you can reliably strip cover, and the dakkadakkadakka from the stormlord's big gun will also love seeing enemy eliminators with saves of 5+ instead of 3+ as a result.

I like it! Thanks for the advice. I like flamers on the infantry too but thought it may be redundant having astropath that can do the same.

Just enough points left to put one flamer on a guard squad

No catachan force with a company commander wielding a chainsword should ever have 6 points to spend! It sucks not giving them all powerfists (I would even consider if I were you downgrading one compnay commander to become a platoon commander, which saves you 10 poitns, and lets you give both company commander and platoon commander a powerfist each. Sure, its only 5 orders. . . but nothing says "screw you" like watching a pair of gaurdsmen kill a thundercaptain in melee...

I very much like this upgrade. You had ONE way to strip cover, now you have three units that can do it. A clever enemy with snipers might consider your two quite soft astropaths as a main target if he has a lot of stuff in cover, and knows you will have lots of trouble lasgunning him.

Alternate take. 21 points if you drop a second astropath, gives you a powerfist, another powerfist, and one of the troops gets a powersword. Now you can consolidate squads to keep that sword alive and whack 4 times with it each turn, just annoying as heck.

I have lots of officers with power fists, sadly not enough points for this build. Thanks again for the help!

Again, I am all misty eyed with remeberings, and wnat to bust out my catachans, leave this socially isolated room, and find an opponent to face the might of my stormlord horde.
