A thought sparked by a discussion on the fate of the FLGS....

This is mostly aimed at those concerned with tourneys & their results.
Since there are no large (or small) tourneys now, or in the forseeable near future (you know, as life resumes), what will many of you do?
(Other than the building/painting of your backlogs.)

Particularly how will you decide what's worth playing - armies/units/options/etc - when there's no rankings of how people 99% of you don't know did at events 99% of you will never attend to rally around?

well that won't stop people from declaring "any list that's not X" to be crap

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

The smart people who test stuff are still going to be alive, I guess. So they can post their results of testing.

But stores closing is a grim prospect for people like me. In my area people don't play at homes, they play at the store, And our store just went belly up , with how it won't be allowed to open till way past may, and our health minister told everyone to "forget this summer" as far as fun things goes. No concerts, no camps, no summer school, no city pools, and no shops that aren't essential.

The people that were going to big tournaments, are still probably going to go to them, because they were always in bigger cities in and link to big, not just w40k tournament.

Feels bad, specially as I just got my GK codex update in march, and never got to play with it.

If you have to kill, then kill in the best manner. If you slaughter, then slaughter in the best manner. Let one of you sharpen his knife so his animal feels no pain.

Near future, I think out to August is still in question concerning large gatherings of people. (Gen Con 2020 is scheduled for July 30-Aug 2. Badge registration is open, but parking pre-registration isn't. It's still four weeks to event registration, so who knows how that'll go...)

If this is still going a year from now, it's probably going to result in 'C19 positive only' events, assuming it's not re-contagious, or serious wavers for everyone attending a public event.
