@Axel Dale whilst I appreciate the encouragement, these models are not me painting at my best, I just want them neat and looking good on the table top. I'm approaching 40 with a professional occupation, a commute and a toddler. My days of having hours to lavish on rank and file troops are over (for the next 14 years at least

) I'm happy just to get an army on the table. Thanks again though, I take the compliment from it.
Cannon is fairly straightforward; bright white base coat, making sure to get into all the crevasses, then dry brush flashgitz yellow, fire dragon orange, wildrider red, glaze with cassandora yellow, dry brush black with a tiny bit of red mixed in (I just edge highlighted the cannon mouth and stipled around the hinge) then a final thin glaze of blood angel red contrast over the tops of the shapes, without letting it run into the crevasses. Job done.
