The title says it all. Total War Warhammer 2 is free to play on Steam until the 19th (probably ending at 10am PST on that day).

Also, both games and the associated paid DLC are all heavily discounted right now.

Thanks for the heads up! I'm giving it a run as Lizardmen, but I'm having some trouble keeping public order. There's a lot of sinister elements and corruption in this one!

PO; is actually a good thing to have low at the beginning, you can farm Rebellions for easy XP, making your big frogies and other dinos quite a bit better due to XP.

GW:"Space marines got too many options to balance, therefore we decided to legends HH units."
Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?"
Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?"
GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!"
Chaos players: Guess i stop playing or go to HH.

Lizardmen really need their public order building, at least early on while you try to wipe out corruption and establish yourself. It might eat into early production and income, but it's worth not having to keep your armies nearby enough to put down rebels.

Lizardmen really don't need to do this, though. I've always found it better to expand and conquer with Lizards, using your Saurus to really dominate everyone else's early roster before they have the chance to tech up. Only Tehenhauin might need to, being primarily skink-based, for the increased Ld experience brings. Other than that, Lizardmen earn plenty of exp just because they're so good at fighting battles already.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.
