Hi-a poster on YouTube has used a contrast paint to paint a miniature and I’m looking to see if there’s a site-guide or recommendations for alternatives
For example plaguebearer skin-what is the equivalent in older paints. I don’t need an exact match

Thanks

I am new too. Dakka Dakka has a conversion chart on paints. Not sure if Contrast Paints factor in or not. I always find it by a simple Google Search ... Dakka Dakkas Conversion Chart. I have also found this free application called Paint Picker. It has a color wheel and, as you move your cursor, it tells you colors from primary to complimentary to split complimentary to Triadic to Tetradic to Analogous and, then, by manufacturer. It is slick and does all the Color Theory "stuff" for you.

And in my limited one month of painting ... Contrast Paints are fussy.

Unfortunately, contrast are pretty much GW only, and fairly new. You can get something in the same vague area with inks and washes, but for the moment, they're fairly unique products.

Contrast paints are hard to colour match because they are translucent and the end result depends on colour of the undercoat and amount of layers. It doesn't help either that many of them are effectively two different colours. Plaguebearer flesh for example, is green on surfaces but brown in recesses.

That place is the harsh dark future far left with only war left.
