Rather than reviving a year old thread, I decided to make a new one, especially since the thread was made before the new S2D battletome.
Been cooped up and decided to try the Total War: Warhammer games. I'm finding that one of the factions I like, at least in aesthetics (even if I am struggling with the campaign) is Norsca. I've always liked the idea of S2D as being a hodge-podge of various Chaos worshipers, and Norsca seem like a very unique group of such worshipers. I've also liked the Viking aspect as well.
While I'll still be getting the Ossiarch Bonereapers and painting those up, I feel I need to do a lot more research to do justice to my paint scheme idea (Peking Opera Masks, with more colorful armor detail for the leaders/characters. Admittedly, everyone I've talked to has said "match the characters you find, wing the rest, but that just doesn't feel right).
In the meantime, as virtually everyone in my 40k group also plays AoS and I'm the odd guy out, I've been looking for another faction that would be, if not somewhat easy to paint and try new things with, at least be fun to paint, and doing a Norsca like faction sounds up my alley. I already got some old hunchback Chaos Warriors that just looked fun. How would I build a S2D army based on Norsca? (Yes, I know, no War Mammoths, sadly).
