Just out of curiosity: in another topic (about the PA short story with the Brazen Drakes) it was mentioned that Custodes seem to be pretty prejudiced towards Space Marines, basically thinking it's only a question when not if they turn traitors.

Are there mentions of a similar attitude towards the Imperial Guard/Navy? They also have turned traitors often enough, but on the other hand they are no indoctrinated supersoldiers.

I'd think the custodes would view killing tainted guardsmen/navy men similar to infected livestock control. I don't think they'd really have malice, dislike or distrust towards guard or navy forces because of this, because that is sort of redundant.

I think the attitude would be more, if they're traitors they die, if not well they're a tool to be used and nothing much more than that.

I can imagine them giving a guardsman the same amount of regard as they would a marine, because while the marine is more valuable it is a bigger threat if it is a traitor, A guard captain? He's replaceable, and well he's not going to argue with the direct incarnation of the emperor's will if he's loyal.

I think there's more hatred/prejudice towards marines simply because they (and their corresponding Primarchs) were the main cause of the HH and the Emperor eventually being interred into the GT. While there were certainly traitor Imperial Army regiments that turned with Horus' forces, they were never the main instigators or key elements that led to rebellion. Given how further above Custodes were already to regular humans than marines, the majority seem to be pretty indifferent to the masses of humanity, with them largely disgusted from how things have been run so far from the Emperor's vision, but beyond that, I think they might actually view humans better in the sense that as the baseline, their inherent weakness gives them a better excuse for backsliding compared to marines.

I assume they don't really see normal humans as individuals and just a target. They're so indoctrinated that I doubt they have any interesting views.

Its like asking how the British view the americans or the French and vice versa - varies from individual to indivdual and even broadly held view are nuanced.

Its the Same as Astartes, Custdodes, Guardsman, navy officer Sisters of Battle view of Guard and Navy - depends on the Sister, Astarte, Custodes, Navy , Guard etc

One Marine might regard them as beneath contempt - oh thats apart from the 2nd Regiment of Planet X who he fought alongside - good bit in Helsreach where Grimaldus and co have no confidence in the "mortals" (or to be fair anyone else) until they have proved themselves - an exception is a navy air wing who have the emblem of the Templars showing that they have been previously recognised by other Templars.

Custodes will likely have limited contact until recently with the fighting arms of the Imperium but they will have formed indivdual opinions.

The basis for my question was that from comments in the other topic I got the impression of a general "baseline" mistrust of Custodes towards Marines. Hence the question if there is a similar negative baseline expectation towards IG/IN before individual opinions are formed

There are relatively few cases of direct interaction I know of, but considering how dismissive they are of high lords and inquisitors, probably not great.

It's worth noting that there is an Imperial Household Squadron which is not part of the Imperial navy proper mentioned in the HH books, and with two lances on a frigate-class ship, The Custodes ship from watchers of the throne sure as hell isn't a conventional navy vessel.
