I've been looking into starting a Necron army, and after playing around with some lists and looking up some conversion videos, I've made a preliminary list using models and conversions from two start collecting boxes, a unit of tomb blades, and a Seraptek Construct:

++ Spearhead Detachment +1CP (Necrons) [53 PL, 1CP, 818pts] ++

+ Configuration +

Detachment CP [1CP]

. Warlord: Warlord Trait (Codex 3): Immortal Pride

+ Troops +

Immortals [8 PL, 150pts]: 10x Immortal, Tesla Carbine

+ Heavy Support +

++ Super-Heavy Auxiliary Detachment (Necrons) [32 PL, 625pts] ++

+ Configuration +

Dynasty Choice
. Dynasty: Novokh

+ Lord of War +

Seraptek Heavy Construct [32 PL, 625pts]
. Two Synaptic Obliterators and Two Transdimensional Projectors

++ Vanguard Detachment +1CP (Necrons) [35 PL, 1CP, 556pts] ++

+ Configuration +

Detachment CP [1CP]

Dynasty Choice
. Dynasty: Novokh

+ HQ +

Cryptek [5 PL, 85pts]: Canoptek Cloak, Staff of Light

+ Elites +

Flayed Ones [12 PL, 195pts]
. 15x Flayed One: 15x Flayer Claws

Flayed Ones [4 PL, 65pts]
. 5x Flayed One: 5x Flayer Claws

Flayed Ones [4 PL, 65pts]
. 5x Flayed One: 5x Flayer Claws

+ Fast Attack +

Canoptek Scarabs [6 PL, 91pts]
. 7x Canoptek Scarab Swarm: 7x Feeder Mandibles

+ Heavy Support +

Canoptek Spyders [4 PL, 55pts]
. Canoptek Spyder: Fabricator Claw Array, Gloom Prism

I plan to use convert the tessaract ark from the catacomb command barges in the start collecting sets, the flayed ones from the warriors, and the heavy destroyers from the tomb blades (to look more like the old metal destroyers). I'm still not sure about the spyder or the C'tan, I don't like their official GW models and I haven't found a conversion I really like, but I am sure I will come across something.

Modeling aside, does this look vaguely close to a competitive necron list? It's very short on CP for a 2000 point army, but it's got a few small, mobile unit bombs: the overlord and immortals (to shoot infantry), the cryptek and destroyers (to shoot vehicles), the cryptek and flayed ones (to fight infantry), and spyder and scarabs (to screen), as well as the c'tan, ark, and construct (I know it won't get a dynastic code). All of them should be able to operate more or less independently, giving the list good board control and a mix of melee and shooting.

I plan to wait until after PA: Pariah before I buy anything. Hopefully Necrons will some good buffs when that comes out, Szeras knows they need them.

I would drop flayed ones and go for warriors instead. And then make a battalion.
Mind you that the Spyder is not a character, so it can be targeted behind the Scarabs, and dies very easily. You're probably better off bringing more scarabs.
I'd also choose the Cosmic Tyrant personality on the C'Tan.
Personally I think Nihilakh is the strongest for the Seraptek, for it's stratagems. Novokhs only benefit is the stratagem for 3CP to fight again (you do not benefit from the rerolls from the dynasty code in a SH Auxiliary detachment).
I'd try and get a Chronometron on one of the crypteks too.

Thanks for the reply, how is this list?

I had gone with Novokh on the Seraptek to let it be repaired by spyder, which would have rerollable hits in melee, but the Nihilak stratagem is more broadly useful, and considering how big the Seraptek is, it will probably be within 3 in of an objective very often. To make up for the points difference by going from flayed ones to warriors, I upgraded the heavy destroyers to normal destroyers. I wasn't sure what else to take in the 90 points I had to spare.

I would drop having an Outrider detachment, and just make it a battalion + the super heavy. Gives you more room to work on the units. It would let you bring Scarabs as one big unit if needed, or trade those and the rest of the flayed ones in for something else.
Mind that the Seraptek does not benefit from the dynasty code, but it does give you access to the stratagems for the dynasty.
I would go with Mephrit or Sautekh for the battalion detachment.
