I have a unit of 5 with 4 power fists and 1 chainfist, and another unit of 5 with combi-bolters and power axes. Then I have another unit of 5 yet unequipped. I have 2 heavy flamers, are those worth taking? Or should I stay cheap and just make more power axes? Or should I do some power mauls and/or swords? Axes just look cool, though mauls also look pretty cool, but the AP2 is so good and they should be able to stick around til Init 1 to strike most of the time?

Or I could kitbash some autocannons for them to have some extra long range capacity.

I’m not a huge fan of axes in 30k
Only slightly cheaper than a fist but less strength and the same drawbacks.
I tend to mix fists and claws for dealing with differing units.

In regards to heavy flamers, they won’t do a great deal.
May be better off slapping a couple of Combi flamers on them.
That’s just really for hoard armies which are rare enough in 30k

If your playing iron warriors I’d skip autocannons and just take siege terminators instead.
Cost wise you gain far more.

Thanks! Good point on the axes. Only saving 5 points in 30k there.

Maybe I'll switch to a few lightning claws. Those also look super cool.

I have 5 Siege Tyrants done, and 5 more in the works. Do those count as Troops in Pride of the Legion too? Or just regular Legion Termies? At least Perturabo makes all of them able to deepstrike

Tyrants do not count as troops for Pride of the Legion anymore.

“Victory is not an abstract concept, it is the equation that sits at the heart of strategy. Victory is the will to expend lives and munitions in attack, overmatching the defenders’reserves of manpower and ordnance. As long as my Iron Warriors are willing to pay any price in pursuit of victory, we shall never be defeated.” - The Primarch Perturabo, Master of the Iron Warriors
