Which image are you trying to link? The full or the small one?

or

Honestly, it is a pain to get those links. If you use Chrome as your browser, right click the image and go to Inspect, then find and copy the direct links to the images.

Not really sure it is worth the effort though.

In fact, I am not 100% sure if it works, or if those images are just in my cache now.

I can't offer advice on Flickr, but I can point out that Dakka has a Gallery - you can upload your gaming related images there and share them wherever you like.

Here is what I do to post an image from flickr:

1) Go to flickr and select the photo

2) On the photo page go to the bottom right of the photo and click on the download photo button

3) From the little menu that appears select "all sizes" This opens a new window where you can pick the size you want from the selection on offer and the page will display it once clicked. Click on the size you want to display.

4) Right click on the photo and get its address. The wording for this will vary browser to browser - eg on opera it says "copy image address"

5) With the image address in your copy come to the forum

a) Either when making a new thread or click on "post reply" then use the IMAGE button in the tab below the title and above the text window. This will insert an image tag into the post like this

[ img ]

without the spaces. You then paste the url you've copied after it and then click on the IMAGE button once more

[ img ] https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49553335946_5f82155905_b.jpg [ /img ]

b) Manually type in the image tags (as above without the spaces). The Image button is purely a handy function to speed things along or if you forget the code.

Thanks, but there's no way in hell I'm doing all that for every pic. I guess I won't get much fb on my pix since they can;t display here, but I am not jumping thru that many hoops for every pic. Thanks for answering tho.

So to avoid the hoops -

There's a code displayed on the image page that you can just copy and paste onto the forums.

You can also do the same with imgur - it also has a simple click and copy code.

Flickr only maintains its odd approach because they want you to link back to their site by default. Which is somewhat odd because they dont' hard-nose ads into their site. I think its one of those out-dated marketing strategies that helped it grow a lot in the early days and now is somewhat redundant, but is kept around because its there already.
