It's Proposition 2 (though you missed the part where you roll to save). Saving throws are NEVER fast rolled, period. You have permission to fast roll Hits and Wounds, but once wounds are determined, you allocate a single wound, then make a save, one at a time. So it goes as such: 1 Attack => 1 successful hit roll => 3 hits => 3 successful wound rolls allocate 1 wound => make one save throw => if failed, inflict 3 Damage => if a model is slain due to that damage then D3 Mortal wounds allocate 1 wound => make one save throw => if failed, inflict 3 Damage => if a model is slain due to that damage then D3 Mortal wounds allocate 1 wound => make one save throw => if failed, inflict 3 Damage => if a model is slain due to that damage then D3 Mortal wounds
