They made the call today. Here's the link to GenCon's website with all the details.

About time they admitted it was a terrible idea to keep it open.

'Con sickness' is a problem even without a pandemic- its unlikely they'd get away with a packed event without transmission, unless, of course, people sensibly just didn't turn up.

Though they really should take their 'XX days until Gen Con' countdown off the page at this point

On moon miranda.

I had tickets to go this year, but figured this was in the pipe and wasn't at all surprised when I saw the email today. Can't blame 'em, even if it wasn't cancelled going would have been a dicey proposition. It sucks, but it's totally understandable.

I guess I'll be looking forward to 2021

The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

It's a bummer, but 70+ thousand people in four days seems like asking for it this year.

I was looking forward to all the 2020 themed memorabilia.

I hope publishers won’t feel bound to the convention season for product announcements considering the convention season is pretty well bust.

I believe one of the mods on the Gencon forum mentioned they would still be selling 2020 merch during the Online Gencon event to raise money.

I'm pretty bummed as my wife was going to help out at a booth my brother was running so I was going to tag along as I normally get bored of Gencon after a day there by myself so I was looking forward to going when she was there.

Maybe next year.
