I recently uncovered my old Eldrad and I was wondering how the rules would work out with using him in a patrol Detachment with my Ynnari army of two Craftworld and Dark Eldar battalions? If I had him with five dire avengers and used him to smite and use his more general abilities that arnt geared towards just Asuryani units I think he could provide a big distraction that would focus my opponent to him and away from my elite shock units or gunboats I need to win.

My biggest concern is how he would fit in a Battleforged army of ynnari Detachments? Would I still be able to claim objectives as I would with a Battleforged army if I included a small Ulthwé Patrol? If I am not interpreting the rules right please let me know.

As long as they are in their own Patrol detachment, that is fine, since the Army Faction would be AELDARI.

Would the units in the reborn detachments still benefit from strength from death even though there is a Craftworld Asuryani Detachment in the army? Would the patrol detachment benefit from the Ulthwé feel no pain?

Generally the rules apply per detachment so youd get the abilities for each

also some of the Farseeer powers have errata to only work with cwe units most notably Doom
