Whats up guys its lorehammer420thousand here with another video for you. Today we're going to use the new trailer from GW to determine the new stat changes that the necrons will see in the new edition.

First, we see necrons in a pitched battle with guardsmen. I think this is the filmmaker subtly hinting to us: think guardsmen, guys.

Next, we see a sister of battle sergeant using her boltgun to dispatch necron warriors. As you oldsters may recall Necron Warriors used to be the most elite troops in the game, and with each edition they have been made more and more the expendable horde infantry that is the true gameplay fantasy of the necron brand.

Here we see the most consistent theming coming out of the video, hinting at the new necron defensive statline: T3 sv6+, posdibly T3 sv-. And it's also clear from the section here that the Reanimation Protocols rule, while a longtime staple of necron identity, may be removed due to its long complained about antifun properties.

Next we see the first appearance of a new necron unit, a crab like necron with a large energy sword. We see him fight a sisters of battle sister superior (A2 Sv3+), which we can use to determine this new melee units stats.

We clearly see from the new video he attacks once where the sister swings twice, so we can conclude hes A1, and from the fact that the sister outruns him Mv5 is likely. He hits the sister with his energy sword and later in the video we see the top of one just get through power armor, so I think a statline like S4 AP-1 is likely. A squad of fifteen to twenty of these may even be able to best a squad of intercessors if they get the charge - an exciting prospect for necron fans!

As to his defenses, we see he takes a blow from the superiors power sword and then he is stabbed straight through with a chainsword. This further lends credence to T3 6+ being the new necron statline, with this elite unit having a beastly W2!

Finally, later in the fight we see the new Crab Dad HQ unit appear - or is it??? You see, my theory is that from his actions or lack thereof Crab Dad is actually 40ks first endless spell - an illusion that does nothing but pose menacingly to goad enemies into attacking him as he does in the video.

Well if we are joust goign to take specfic bits from the narrative vid and ignore others....

The Sister shoots the large Necron repeatedly with her boltgun which has zero effect - so must be 2+ re-rollable save,
Her Power Sword bounces off as well so probably a 2+ invulnerable.

So yeah...

Im sure soon well get the exciting animated trailer to the new space marines where they get dumpstered on by some kroot in close combat.
