Those three Characters where originally only released as a combined boxset. In the fluff Cypher helped Guilliman on his quest back to Terra before realising that Guilliman wasn't going to let him see the Emperor (at which point he vanished again)

Chypher featured so heavily in the dark imperium story it’s a shame nothing happened with him on the table top. Helps RG but he’s still just a CSM

They have been slowly building on the Fallen gathering so I wouldn't expect anything new for Cypher until they move that story line on. We might even get a full Fallen codex, though hopefully after both Emperor's Children & World Eaters.

Cypher will be back, no doubt about it.
Sometimes these plots are set up but take years to be realised.

Or they'll drop the story line like they often do. Personally I hope they don't make a Fallen codex.

They’ve pretty much setup the return of the lion and Luther so something is gonna have to give. They never really finished dark imperium in my mind. Remember when the danger of the eye of terror was that it was a permanently open portal to the realm of chaos. Now there’s a big one all the way down the middle of the galaxy and all they have done is boost the imperial armies and release primaris marines. If chaos have the ability to enter real space at any point along the galaxy we should have seen boards of demons and CSM pouring into the galaxy. Really dark 8th shouldn’t have been done until we had the EC and WE codex along with a cultist/chaos guard codex.
The problem with a fallen codex is some fallen appear to be loyal and some chaos. Same angle as AL. However an AL codex could include fallen and cultists

What I gather from their books is setting up the Fallen as split even amongst themselves as half unwittingly siding with Chaos (from some yet unknown bargaining with the Ouroboros) and those that are just rebels against Lion AND Horus equally.

I'd kind like to see a Ynnari-Style codex that allows you to pick a mix of Dark Angel and Chaos Space Marine units, with different benefits depending on whether you pick IMPERIUM or CHAOS. I think a few pages in a WD would be enough to realize that.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

I wonder what the GK and DA players from prior edition felt at the start of 8th, when they saw that pic. Our guy among the main 3 dudes, the speculations must have been gigantic.

Exactly what are they marketing? The story or the game and why do things have to be so mutually exclusive. They should’nt be prepared to write about a character that has a model unless they are prepared to make a proper connection between the Story and model as it plays On the table top. Just being able to adjust some DA veteran models so they are fallen isn’t really enough. Having characters that appear in Heretic and loyalist codexes working together in the story and then representing them as bitter enemies in the games isn’t right

Fallen can be in the same army with Gulliman, it's just not worth the trouble.

I am not a master of any of those things. But I think that people do draw a lot of conclusions, just because they want to have fun this time, and do not want to be skiped. In 8th ed GK were non existent in lore after the Gulliman returns story arc, till PA4, and PA4 lore stuff was not much of a story. It killed two GK heroes and that is it.
People don't want to be skiped over and that drives them to over react. They see a picture of chain sword primaris, and they jump to conclusions that they are going to have jump packs, and so will characters.

That would be pretty cool. There's a helbrute in the background of the display photo of the Fallen in the CSM 2.0 codex, so that could be one. Due to their renegade status, their army could be focused on fast attack units, like Ravenwing bikes, raptors, warp talons, loyalist assault units, LS Vengeances, and Chaos spawn. They could also have access to the tanks that both SM and CSM get (a player could decide to take either version), sorcerors (due to the Fallen Angels detachment), librarians, cultists and maybe a daemon engine or two. I'm not sure if they should be able to take Chaos marks, though they could be nasty with the Slaanesh mark with Endless Cacophony. Maybe marked Fallen could not be allied with loyalist forces.
