I'm curious how Horticulous Slimex's ability to plant trees throughout the game operates in matched play.

I'm not sure if anyone has come across this in the past few years, but I am aware that certain things cost points to use. Just wondering if this ability is one of them.

IDK how it would, but I am just seeking clarification for list building purposes.

I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.

You're creating a new unit. Therefore, in matched play, it will cost you reinforcement points.

From the Main Rulebook FAQ:

Q: If a rule creates a new unit during the battle in a matched play game and adds them to my army, must I pay for the unit with my reinforcement points?

A: Yes (unless the rule itself says otherwise). If you don’t have enough reinforcement points, you cannot add that unit to your army.
