Hey mates. I am a White Scars player and while I love everything about the Chapter and their use of Bikes, I have run into a bit of a conundrum atm. With the new Primaris Bikes incoming, I have started seriously debating if it would be worth keeping my Non-Primaris units in general, and while I am keeping some of the HQ units and my Air Wing of Stormtalon Gunships, when it comes to the standard Bike Squads, I am really torn atm. What are your opinions on this? While I do love my Bike Squads, I am aware that GW will eventually replace all Non-Primaris units with Primaris in the future and a part of me see's this as an opportunity to sell them while they still have some value financially. Appreciate the help mates.

I almost always regret selling any army, personally. I'd hold on to it. It's not even clear that GW will get rid of non Primaris either.

GW is getting rid of non-primaris, but it's going to take at least another 10 years before everything gets phased out - for example, they haven't made a new mini-marine kit since 8th launched 3 years ago.

Keep your bikes, it sounds like you still want to play with them. Depending on your play group, people may allow you to proxy them as Primaris Bikers.

I never regretted not selling stuff. But I have regretted selling stuff... Make of that what you will.

In short.. Dont sell the things you love. If you love them and they bring you joy and a times comes when they are not playable you can proudly retire them into a nice display case where they can forever be in all of their glory

You might be able to use them as primaris bikes once they get their rules. Might need slightly bigger bases maybe but I cant imagine them being that much bigger.

You know, they must also be planning to phase out Dark Eldar. And Tyranids.

I don't think mini-marines are going anywhere. There won't be new mini-marine releases, but if not having new releases equated to removal then Dark Eldar and Sisters of Battle would have been removed a long time ago. I think they'll stay as stat profiles in the codex, and will remain usable for the forseeable future.

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Cadia may be no more, but will never be forgotten; our foes shall tremble in fear at the name, for their doom shall come from the barrels of Cadian guns, fired by Cadian hands! Forward, for vengeance and retribution, in His name and the names of our fallen comrades!

Ok, let me rephrase that. Mini-marines will all be sent to Legends sooner or later. GW have made it clear they don't intend on expanding the line, and have already moved model-less units into Legends. It's just a matter of time when they stop producing certain kits and put them into Legends (some Space Wolf specific boxes are no longer produced for example)

People also claimed they would be gone for 9th ed. So far so good.

Plus, they share kits with CSM. Rhinos, Predators, Vindicators and Land Raiders are molds that are used for CSM who just got an update. Would they drop those kits for loyalists if they can keep selling them? It would also mean dropping their support for the Horus Hersey plastics which are also just a few years old. I see them sticking around for at least a little while. I think most of the stuff that was pushed to legends were models which were no longer (or never) sold. Iirc, a bunch of FW stuff like Dreadnought arms, and Librarians on Bikes.

And there's always older editions to play. A bunch of us do that, too.

Also they just raised the prices on a bunch of those kits.

There will be a point in time when only Primaris Bikes are left in the Codex. That's the time when you finally can use your current old Bikers as Primaris, just like people use their Rogue Trader Terminators on 25mm Bases as Terminators or their Pariahs as Lychguard.
Until then use them as what they are now and have fun.

There is just no way that minimarines will be dropped like people are saying - it's not going to happen in the foreseeable. What you'll see instead, what you're already seeing, is that they will receive worse and worse rules until they are irrelevant. You'll be able to still play them for sure, but it will be playing with one arm tied behind your back.

I sold all my bikes and flyers early 8th when Bikes were no longer Troops, and WS lost their perks.

Regret immensely.

Could have just played them as IF successors and had massive DAKKA.

Or course, since then I've started Primaris force and cant stand the First Born.
