I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person who saw the new Primaris bike models, and thought "on your bike GW" more than "get on your bike and ride". I've seen quite a few people say they are just too ground hugging, so what happens if you raise the main body for a more realistic clearance?

My image editing abilities are limited, but the "blueprint" picture GW shared today (https://www.warhammer-community.com/2020/06/16/indomitus-focus-get-on-your-bike/) gave me something to work with. My question to you all is whether this change is enough, or if the bolt-upright stance of the riders still won't quite let it work (to me the raised body bike looks like it should have a rider leaning forwards like Dark Eldar bikers)? If not, what about chopper-like handlebars so there's a reason they're so upright?

Honestly wondering if you just take the front wheel support arm and rotate it down, it might give you a nicer leaned back rider pose, and lift the belly up and off the ground.

One problem with raising the nose (which I think would look good) would be the guns pointing up into the air.

I for one think a race bike style would look better. Problem is it would be extensive modding.

Hrm, yeah, you're right, and worse, can't do the easy shim under them to get them back level because of the ammo feed. Could try seeing if you could also angle the rear wheel arm since they look like they're supposed to be independent, but then that little angled bit at the bottom of the main block starts looking to get into the way, and thats even if GW actually put them in easily moved chunks instead of a single block...

the sprue will be key to this. I'm trying to see what it would take to just give it a little more ground clearance(which is my only prob w bikes & mariokart), at least the Astartes bikes LOOK like they'd "work".

Your photoshop skills are better than mine, but my headcannon has always been the bikes are in "high speed low drag" mode.

The front and back wheels are able to rotate downwards to increase the ground clearance.

While this doesn't work for the Attack Bike side car it can work for the ATV.

Point. ^

Whole design for the bikes is just for futuristic tarmac, simple as that. If you want a normal look you have to scratchbuild bikes from the ground up using enduro bikes as your design template.

ditch the wheels, print some grav-plates and a jet turbine, jobs a good un, although one wheel being part of the body is a pita

Judging by the sprue, I think there is scope to move front and back wheels, as per Kayback's diagram. Even if you did this one just one model in an entire army, it would justify the rest as plausible bikes.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

Looking at the sprue: according to the "lore" of things, apparently the engine block was designed with "more armor" around the engine block than the regular bikes... But in actuality, it seems like GW couldn't bother to design/produce mold plate with actual engine blocks and decided to just cover it up with large flat panels.

Clearly, the design of the bike draws inspiration from examples like Tron & Cloud's bike from Advent Children with generous scoop of Grimdark. As said above, the bike would've been much more aggressive if the rider was leaning forward.
