So what's everyone's favorite brushes (in general) besides the Windsor Newton series 7? What does everyone think of GW brushes? They seem overpriced to me.

I like GW brushes, they’re fit for purpose, last a while if you take care of them, and while a little pricey, are readily available and not extortionate.

I ordered some brushes from RedGrassGames in France (?) recently and I've been very pleased with them. They don't have as much of a variety of styles as Citadel, but they're higher quality from what I can tell. They maintain a tip for a long time and the bristles feel, I dunno, silkier or something.

Raphael 8404's, size 3 for my workhorse, size 2 for details (including 28mm eyes).
In a pinch, I will sub out for Handovers (size 4 is equivalent to 8404's size 3) if I run out of Raph's and can't replace them in time.

Red Grass Games brushes are amazing, as is thier wet pallette. I also have some Raphaels that I use as my workhorse basecoating brushes as I was not as impressed with them. Windsor and Newton series 7 are meant to be amazing, but if you buy them don't make the same mistake I did and buy the minature variety! It sounds like they are the right ones but they really aren't .
