Just a quick poll.

Which army are you most looking forward to seeing on the battlefield with the 9th edition previewed rules so far and why?

Would love your examples in relation to any new rules that may assist you.

I am asking to provide some data for our new Youtube channel callled 'Planet 40k'

Link https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHhjutyqA1BU0QSpZUVO38g

We are putting up regular videos now and we are currently previewing the 9th edition so all info is great. The first few videos had mic issues which has since been resolved.

Would love it if you could support the channel by clicking the subscribe button on the channel.

Next vid out this week will be discussing the new game type - Crusade.

Definitely necrons, just for the pile of new models.

And somewhat the ability to ignore lots of 9th edition restrictions by being leadership 10 and able to take a lot of 5 model (or smaller) units.

Efficiency is the highest virtue.

For most of us we're going to be keeping our current codexes for some time into 9th, I don't expect much in the way of change for any of the armies I play.

Tau, as it is my primary army.

Also Admech vs. IG - I’m curious to see how these two forces will differ on the battlefield.

Any news on 'nids? Been out of the loop ever since 7E entered the picture, but I heard their last codex was a disaster. Would be curious to see if rule changes can make their melee options viable again.

Excited for Marines. It's really nice to see that they're starting to take on the old look of their mini cousins, which helps to flush them out a bit.

Ive heard rumours that they are going to be one of the earlier codex releases. Don’t quote me in that. I hope it’s true though

Orks. Largely because more mechanized lists are looking good, and that style is a blast to play.

The dark behind the eyes.

My Dark Eldar are basically a dead army at this point, so the fate of Necrons will probably determine whether or not I even bother with this edition.

Will likely depend on whether GW fulfils its ambitious goals and actually makes infantry Necron armies viable, as opposed to 'start every list with 3 DDAs or GTFO'.

You're not. If you're worried about your opponent using 'fake' rules, you're having fun the wrong way. This hobby isn't about rules. It's about buying Citadel miniatures.

A Mostly Renegades and Heretics blog.
GW:"Space marines got too many options to balance, therefore we decided to legends HH units."
Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?"
Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?"
GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!"
Chaos players: Guess i stop playing or go to HH.

Currently still busy painting my new Martyred Ladies, and the one issue I had with their 15 woman squads was getting into range - strategic reserves should fix that nicely. My Valorous Hearts will benefit from the vehicle buffs as they're highly mechanized, and both Orders are now able to include Inquisition and Assassins without any issues.

I wouldn't agree with that, the 8th edition codex is decent overall, and has very good internal balance and tons of options when it comes to customizing your aliens

The biggest changes for them will be that it's easier to get into melee range, and that monsters get to shoot even when in engagement range. Outflanking fexes should be entertaining, too.

Currently waiying to see which of the 9 subfactions of Marines are going to the totally Balanced for the first year of 9th edition.

Also seeing how many of them go mental when people start playing the mario cart theme song during their turns.

Squats of course.
Same answer as every edition 3rd+. Probably going to be disappointed yet again as well....

So if not Squats I guess I'll go with Necrons as I'll soon own some all new shiny models.

Interested to see if they keep strip mining the Eldar for new imperial units, or if they actually decide to build the Eldar back into what they should be..

I'm expecting the former but hoping for the latter

I can hardly wait for my sisters to hit the table- 6 mortifiers and 3 classic penitent engines, repentia and arcos...

I think DE will get a new dex, and they are my current secondary, so them. I really want Trueborn, Bloodbrides and Vect, along with new court of the Archon.

I also play GSC and Chaos (both Daemons and CSM), but it's the other two I really want to see.

Renegades and Heretics. I want to see what they do for them in the new fw books. Do we finally get good rules again? Maybe get our veterans and Demagogue Devotions back? Or will they squat us.

Also csm, because no matter how many bad legion traits, uninspired codexes, or ridiculous wombo combo play styles they throw at us, you just can't keep a good Legionarie down.

I'm still hopeful for a World Eaters book and primarch. So that's what I look forward to. Besides that, I really want CSM to be better. I feel outclassed by every SM army I play against.

Eldar, unquestionably. It has to be the edition where they revamp a lot of the line. It's coming.....they have to stop the Necron threat.

Ah, hope.
If it does happen, I just hope they rebuild, and not set everything on fire and start over (with the suicide cultists or something equally silly)

Certainly not my Unforgiven or Eldar. I hate to be negative so often, but from what has been revealed of 9th so far, I'm expecting the game to collapse in on itself within a couple months (gameplay/ruleswise). 9th looks like a giant mess of solving problems by creating more problems.

I'd love to see all armies be played more, and do well.

Do FW still produce miniatures for this army?

If the answer is yes, then you might be lucky. If not, you might have some Legends in your future.

Oversight on my end. So many factions within factions now and classing them independently is confusing lol. Are Deathguard their own entity now or do you consider them Chaos Marines?

Well, you took all SM together, so you can do the same with CSM. DG and TS aren't more different from CSM than Space Wolves are from SM.
