Since my SW army is going to focus more on midrange board control using a lot of incursors, infiltrators, and a pair of war suits, (as well as a relatively hard-hitting melee element) do you think now that the move and fire penalty is gone, that the autocannons are now more viable on the wear suits? I would like to run two in the army, and I'm actually leaning heavily towards the autocannons because I like the way they look and I think I want the extra antitank firepower, but I wasn't sure how you all felt about them now.
Good idea, bad idea, dumb idea? maybe all three? I'm honestly not sure, and I really think I'm beginning to favor the firepower of the Autocannon vs the incendum cannon for multi damage weapons.
For the wulfen, since the storm shield is changing, is the T.Hammer and S.Shield as valuable as they once were? I was thinking about kitting a few of them out with it (I'm building one big mob of ten) but now that the S.Shields aren't really as good at keeping them alive anymore, I was thinking of kitting several of them out with axes to save on points and give them a few more attacks as a unit. That would put about four of five dudes in the mob with TH/SS loadout which should be ok? I'm honestly of two minds. Part of me just wants to push as much survivability in the unit as I can, the other part of me just wants to have some built-in leeway to accept casualties and save on the cost without sacrificing too much combat efficacy.
Seriously, I think I am heading into analysis paralysis at this point, and I hate magnets, id rather just put them together and be ok with what I have.
The rough concept of my SW build is:
Ragnar, cause duh.
Njal cause yup
incursors X5
incursors X5
Infiltrators X 5
Intercessors X 10 with dakka rifles
Warsuits x 2
redempter dread with all dem gunz
wulfen
maybe some Cav if i can fit them in? not sure how points work out. We'll have to wait on that one.
