Hi
Following the great info you guys gave me about airbrushes I wanted to ask specifically about this new contraption. As someone who is still trying improve their brush techniques I’m not looking to do anything fancy with an airbrush right now but would like a way of putting down smoother sprinters and bases and hopefully quicker. Also I love some of the paints the green Stuff world Make like their metallics and chameleon paints. Looking at their videos they, in my opinion, produce much better result when applied by airbrush than brush.
So my questions are
1. Has anyone experienced this product
2. There is a solvent resistant version, why would I need this
Thanks

Not experienced it, but you'd potentially need / want a solvent-resistant model if you were going to spray solvent-based paints.

Not water-based.
Stuff like, say, Humbrol enamels. If you used it, you'd know about it...

I have found all styrene (obviously) and many different resin products from multiple companies all tolerant of non-water based paints, like enamels and such.
In fact, I prefer flat enamels in my airbrush to water-based acrylics for many reasons:
- atomizes better for smoother application in a thinner coat (pigment/carrier ratio)
- easier clean up, as mineral spirits will soften and clean hardened enamels, but dried acrylics are a pain
- less clogging
The one downside is some fumes, but there is low VOC spirits available.
However, this set up seems to not have the internal needle and tips, so maybe cleaning will not really be an issue.
