A regiment of abhumans from a strange world called Orcanossilopicut in the outer reaches of the Imperium. They see themselves as part of the Astra Militarum, but are in reality little more than a PDF from a world no one pays attention to.

Their species is officially named the Arcanynolopinousiarstahuegononotargaffiliss, but anyone in the Imperium that even knows about them simply refers to them as Little Big Heads.

They mostly equip themselves with salvage from the battlefield or supply depots, which means they rarely have all the parts of a traditional AM or even Planetary Defence Force.

They are a diminutive race, with bodies around the size of a filthy Greenskin Gretchin, but they have the strength of an Ogryn.

However, the leaders and senior members of the species have evolved large heads, which is linked to their increased brain function. They are known as Big Heads, with the rest of the species known as Little Heads.

First up, some HQs.

Huge Head on Slab Shield(Commander)
Leader of the regiment, he is accompanied by a Little Head lookout, and they are both carried on a large shield by two Little Head attendants.


Prayer Boss and Rules Boss(Chaplain and Commissar)
One encourages uneasy soldiers to fight on with Litanies to the God Emperor of Mankind...the other shoots them in the head.

Minogryn Bodyguards
Protect the Huge Head with their bulk and strength. Little Head handlers on their shoulders keep them under control.


Fun fact (well to me). The bodyguards were actually the first thing I made in this, as I had them left over from my Marvel Hulk. Was messing around and also had some Grots, and stuck the AdMech heads on them and then on the shoulders of the big guys. It was only after this that I stuck the Ogryn head on another Grot and voila, the Little Big Heads were born :-)

Machine Head on Slab Shield
Two recovered AM sentinels grafted together. The legs were missing so the Big Heads just had two Little Head attendants carry it on a Slab Shield.



Little Head Squads
Majority of the Little Big Heads force is made up of Little Heads armed with an array of Imperial and Xenos weapons.

Thanks again for the feedback. Was a lot of fun coming up with different ways to make different units.

Little Head Deadeye Squad
Some Little Heads specialise, in this case into long range weaponry and stealth.


Little Head Berserker Squad
Occasionally, a Little Head will develop a rare psychological disorder known locally as Naaplean syndrome. They start to go insane, and so they join the small
but deadly ranks of the Little Head Berserkers, the force's only Little Head melee orientated units.

Haha yes. What is scarier is that because of his oversized knife, the little guy wields that Thunder Hammer in one hand.

That may actually be a symptom once in the latter stages of the condition, but these guys are quite recent inductees :-)

Still considering other units/things to make, but at some point it does start to get ridiculous (I mean, more ridiculous).

As a result of other ongoing projects, I had some more Gretchin bodies to work with...and some Tempestus Scion heads.

Thus we have

Little Head Commando Squad
Where the Little Head Deadeyes remove the enemy from afar, the Little Head Commandos like to do their stealthy killing up close.
They achieve this using their silenced bolt pistols (yup), grappling gear and berets.

Haha yes, I can almost see them being like the Gauls now...less well armed then some, but strangely strong :-)

Just hoping I don't come up with any more ideas for them for a little while!

The Little Big Heads are back, and this time they have some super heavy support.

I present The Little Big Brothers

The Little Big Brothers are four siblings named Billy, Raymond, Wally and Russ, that are part of the LITTLE BIG HEAD Planetary Defence Force.

The eldest brother, Raymond, is a veteran Big Head officer who commands his kin from atop his younger brother's shoulders.

The youngest brothers, Wally and Russ, are twin Little Head saboteurs who ride along to cause mischief and havoc on the battlefield.

The middle, and by far the largest brother is Billy. No other Little Big Head is like Billy, because he never stopped growing. As with all their equipment, the Little Big Heads found Billy's gear on the battlefield, in his case after a duel to the death between Questoris and Renegade Knights. The Big Head Tinkers modified what they found and strapped the fallen Knight's armour and weapons to Billy. The Little Big Heads may never have Imperial Knight support, but then no other PDF in the galaxy has a Billy (or a Ray, a Wal or a Russ).

(This is what happens when you buy a Mega-Gargant and have lots of left over Imperial Knight bits.)

Thanks for all the comments. Really is quite stupid, but I can't help loving these guys.

I think Billy (and his brothers) really are the last addition though, because I am not sure anything else could top it in the silliness stakes, and I really don't think there is anything larger that fits the theme. Only thing that I might do in the future is add more of the small guys, especially if another project yields some gretchen bodies to use ;-)

Apparently there was something else I could do. Thanks to Alchemist Painting on Twitch, I picked up the Snotling Blood Bowl team. Still working on the additional troops, but have completed this...

Little Big Heads Flame Wagon
What could possibly go wrong by making a wooden vehicle to transport some Little Heads...then strapping a flamer to it, and arming some of the Little Heads with flamers?

A slightly strange return to the Little Big Heads (if it's even possible to NOT be strange)

Basically, I built Da Red Gobbo to paint on Twitch *cough* link in signature *cough* for Christmas, and somehow I lost part 13...da head! But nothing so trivial as that was going to stop me and a compromise was made. Yup, stick a bearded Ogryn head on it instead, greenstuff a nice bobble hat and voila, the Little Big Father was born!

Add to that a pinch of Mordant Earthed for the molten Squig and a sprinkle of fluor paint for its shiny nose and fairy lights and it...we its a thing





I'd love to say that's it (again), but after a bit of a hiatus, there are more Little Big Heads on the way in 2022!
