Hi all.
A few people may have seen this a while back before it got used as a pets chew toy.
Since then I rebuilt it, it then got crushed during a house move.

However, with the addition of the anvil in AoS, custom hero’s can now be used with players consent.
This instantly gave me the willpower I needed to get going and rebuild it yet again.

For now, this is just the core of it.
I need to start adding the more refined details yet like wiring, supports etc but I’m at a stage where I’m happy to show it now.
Definitely a big mecha rat.

Luckily for me, my gaming group is pretty chill.
The second they saw the rules for creating custom hero’s they jumped straight on it and allowed it.

So just because of that, I decided to throw a profile together for him using the anvil.
Again, like the model this is still rough.
Will have to make a few tweaks here and there.

So that’s where it’s at for now.
Plan is to try and start refining it a bit over the week so I can begin painting on the weekend.

Ps: ignore the plasticard on the base.
The only suitable base I had for this had a hole in it for some reason, so I just patched it for now.

Norn Iron

That's a big robut. That's also some crafty use of bits. I especially like the recycled screaming bell. Nicely done!

What's the yellow bit at the rear?

Yellow part is a kinder egg that happened to be within reach at the time lol.
I’ll get some back shots tomorrow as I’ve been slowly adding some detail to it.

Nice use of sprue!
lolz, would love to see rat mech vs dwarf mech
OFcourse Dwarf mech would be much superior and better and would probably win, but still!

I do love that model.

I was thinking of using a knight as a base for this but skaven don’t really tend to build new things, especially out of metal as a primary material.
Usually tends to be wood with metal bracing etc.

Slowly adding odds and ends to it to detail it.
Also started on bulking up the waist a bit as it was too thin and structurally it really wasn’t stable in the slightest.

So far I think I’ve pillaged parts from the doom wheel, screaming bell and a chunk of my bits box.

Ideally I need to pick up a GS world mould for making tubing as it would help a lot.
I’m currently “borrowing” tubing from various 40k parts I have laying about.

A knight as a base is cool and all, but it is not as fun as building your own!
I feel ya.

GS has tube rolling plates kit, you can make coragated tubes and wires with.
I grabbed one long time ago, and love it.

Try picking up throw away electorics and stripping the wires from it, and use the stripped plastic tube for your needs. Or if the wire is thin enough just the while thing!
I have tried something akin to that with a paperclip that has the plastic coating, however the plastic tube from paperclip holds the paperclip angles shape and only useful in short sections.

When you will start to pain the guy! You absolutely must make some awesome plans of epic proportions for base decoration
