As my preference is to combine best models and best ruleset in one game I added yet another unit to my Warmachine collection. I chose Idoneth Deepkin Reavers to become Cylena's Nyss Hunters Mercenaries. There were several reasons for this choice.

1. Price. PP for unknown reasons want to push customers away with their inflated prices even though their models are of lower...

2. ...quality. Those big heads and ugly, ugly mugs...are they really supposed to be Elves ?

3. Assembly. PP older models are a bit infamous for being difficult to assemble. Metal ones have tiny contact points on huge parts while older plastics have mould lines that are very difficult to remove. I knew GW models will be a pleasure to assemble.

All I had to do was to add spare Wraithguard swords for WYSIWYG reasons and use proper bases ofc. I also sculpted some hair on Cylena to make her stand out.

Muscat, Oman

Nice work! They make very suitable Nyss proxies.

Your reasoning in chosing models is flawless.
Models look great, but I cant help thinking you might want to try to copy the "official" colors of the original unit when using "count as" models from another game. -Not that it really matters

I I tried something like this I would just end up with a full army of giant turtles and stuff once I got started with Idoneth

Actually I quite actively avoid using "suggested colour schemes" on my armies, hence, for instance, my Protectorate looks like this:

and my Circle like this:

With these Reavers/Nyss I liked the colours suggested on the box, though, and they fit the "dark and cold" aesthetic of Nyss well enough that I decided to use them, with just minor alterations.
