So are scatter laser windriders still the go-to option for anti-horde, or are they too expensive now?

Dire Avengers with bladestorm and hail of doom are pretty okay, and are obsec. 5 average 10 hits with the upgraded dual-wielding exarch. -1 strips the t-shirt save. Doom on a blob makes them stingg...

AMLs with the addition of blast are quite potent hordesweepers. That extra point of AP over standard Frags makes all the difference, and Doom is just icing.

I think windriders with scatters are a bit overcosted now to be honest. 60 PTS gets you two scat bikes or a twin scat war walker or a twin shuriken cannon, cannon/scat vyper. The defensive buff on the bigger alternatives is too good to ignore.
Twin cat bikes look decent though, ten points per wound is much more palatable. With hail of doom from deepstrike they can do real work against chaff.

War Walkers with two Shuriken Cannons look nice and beafy, they can also tie chaff up in melee and still scythe them down in the shooting phase or just zoom around with battlefocus. And they're still just 10 pts per wound, the same as Guardians.
