Subject: Ork Battle Walker - AKA a Kitbash/scratch built mORKnaught

So the Build is complete 8.22.2020, painting soon!
The Project Beginning:
Right as a distraction, from a Mechanized Goblin air navy, I wanted to build/kitbash a walker, so here's my latest work
For the head I found bits for most of battlewagon cab:
For the torso I am using parts from ork buggies, I think the squig buggy & deff skulls one, and a part from an Admech Walker:
Top of the torso:

The Head & Torso:
https://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/1073342-.html
https://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/1073348-.html
And the beginnings of the leg(s), and hip:
For this build I am aiming more for a kitbash than a scratch build, because of it I am digging into my bits box, its a large random bits box.
Comments welcome.

That looks great! The rivets must take an age!
I built a GW sanctioned Morkanaut and had to make some changes, as some parts look too clean for Orks. So i'll be interested in your take on it.

Ironically, they're dollar store floral wire. Its so much more flexible than normal because it's aluminum.

I have to admit I don't like the larger ork walkers that gw makes. Thanks! Also on the rivets...... well not really, I use 1mm half dome nail art beds. If done while you build riveting fells like it goes faster.
Right update, his second leg is done, still need to build out the "foot" then MORE PISTONS!
Thanks for reading/looking,

It's from the "Dollar store" it cheap floral wire, I assume aluminum. Its easier to bend than normal floral wire
So updates, he has two feet now:
The leg assembly:
And I built a Super MEGA SHOCK KANNON! AKA I Morknaught Main Gun:

I always love to see a good Orky kitbash/scratchbuild/mekjob - and this one's looking very cool so far! I'm enjoying that Mega Shock Kannon.

Sorry about the double posting, but I got a chance to get some serious work done on this model:
I didn't like how the "head" was working out, so I cut it apart, and added a twin Eavy Shoota:

It's really nice! Propa Morka too as it looks like the emphasis in on nimble and deadly rather than big giant overkill stompy and ponderous. A pretty unique take on the ork walker mech concept.
I'd maybe like to see some more armour plates, big shoulder plates and some over the thighs maybe. Maybe you have plans to that maybe just havnt reached that stage yet. What you've got so far is very cool and I dig the new twin shoota up top. Very nice indeed. Lots of character.

It's an amazing work indeed. I'd just make the belly way more bulky, it looks really thin.

Thanks, My head Cannon (story) for this army is its actually a bunch of Grots, they prefer being nimbler. Also if I keep working on this army, I'm building my troops as Mech Stompa troops the size of Orks.
Blackie wrote:It's an amazing work indeed. I'd just make the belly way more bulky, it looks really thin.
Naaaa He's a MORKnaught, more cunning (aka faster), but still brutal.
So small update broke out my airbrush for the 4th time and well this is the first time I am happy with how things turned out. I wanted a bright white/yellow that will contrast well with the planned bright green (head has some green on it for a test). The core color of each yellow panel is Dorn Yellow which I worried about being too chalky but through an airbrush wow it laid smooth.
