I havent played seriously since 7th edition and im looking to get back into the game with the introduction of 9th.
I am considering going back to an old favorite of mine the Grey Knights but im also looking at the Custodes.

The pros to the grey knights are im familiar with the units and enjoy the aesthetic.
The pros to the Custodes is they are and elite army so i will need less models on the table which means less money to build and army
*( i also enjoy the Custodes aesthetic)

and just as a follow on question, does anyone know if the GK will be getting primaris upgrades? Just curious, I love them the way they are
but didnt know if they were going to be getting taller as well.

So far, there are no Primaris for GK.

With today's announcement, as full-fledged marines, they should all go to 2 wounds (3 for terminators)... whenever their new codex happens.
For an army that sells partially by style, this makes Primaris GK rather unnecessary.

Really hard to give you a responsible answer without the new codexes, especially since the GK smite problem is only going to be addressed then.

Both armies are great to field.
Custodes is too one-dimensional if you ask me.
GK has some more builds to go with.

GK are genuinely good with their PA, and getting +1 wound across the board is only going to make them better.
