I see information about the 9th edition codex for deamons but the 8th is the one you can purchase currently, should I be expecting the codex to release soon? I have other armies I need a codex for too and am not sure how long I should wait for their 9th editions to release.

Unlikely. First Codexes are Necrons and Space Marines sometime in October, and Daemons aren't usually high on GW's release-schedule priority. https://www.warhammer-community.com/ is where you'll see official announcements.

Yeah, pretty much any Codex talk at the moment - outside of SM and Necrons, anyway - is people theorising what they think is likely to turn up when.

Every faction is likely to get a new 'dex during 9th, if only for the faction-specific Crusade content and secondary objectives. In the case of Daemons, there's also a bunch of Slaanesh releases which need rolling into the 'dex proper, rather than just being printed in their Psychic Awakening book.

Does that mean they'll be earlier in the queue than AdMech, say, who are in a similar position? No-one really knows. It'd make sense to me for those two to be reasonably early in the release order, but "what makes sense to me" and "what makes sense to GW" doesn't always line up.
