I’ve been toying around with some Harlequin/Eldar lists (aiming for heavier on the Quins) so I thought I might share my first iteration for review here. Lots of fast Harlequins units to take the middle quickly and then a slightly sturdier bit of Eldar tanks and troops to help keep it. Thanks for looking.

I like the look of it overall (at least as a primer to getting used to 9th before trying some more skew-y builds), but I do have a few questions. Is it worth the CP to use Pivotal Role to add Veil of Illusion? I like the sound of it but with boards getting smaller it might not have that much impact in practice. Although it is only one CP so even if it affects only the first turn it might be worth it. That and if 12” flamers become a common sight it might be worth it. Also though about spending another CP on Pivotal Role to add Prince of Light to the Troupe Master to stack with Player of Light for +1 rerollable charges. Or should I switch his WL trait to Player of Twilight for CP regen (albeit max 1 per turn)? Thanks for looking, any critiques are more than welcome.

Well, I'd drop the Troupe units and add two further units of Skyweavers by taking an outrider detachment.

Are you that hot on Skyweavers or that down on Troupes? I thought the fusion boats were sounding pretty tasty so far. I know they're a bit flimsy, but hiding out as best as possible/protecting as much of the Harlequin detachment as possible with a 9" -1 to wound/-6" range to enemy shooting bubble via Foes of The Mind sounds like a plausible strategy for a strong beta strike to the mid board. That and it seems to me that I'd want to pump a fair bit of CP into the bikes defensively (prismatic blur pretty much every turn) and offensively (murderous entrance/Frozen stars +1 to wound strat) depending on what targets present themselves, making multiple squads of bikes less appealing.

I did toy around with a different iteration. One less Harlie Boat and a little more oomph from the Eldar side of things

I am toying with something similar. I think it'll be strong.

I'd probably take 2 of your Falcons with Missile Launchers or Bright lances, just so you have some longer range anti tank to fall back on.

I've heard for Starcannon to AML, it's usually about a 2:1 ratio.

I could see doing that. It would cost me a couple of zephyrglaives or fusion pistols which I'm not keen to drop but it might be a good idea. Think i'd lean towards the AML.

Death Jester is clutch. -2" move and no overwatch will win you so many games.

Honestly, I'd consider dropping your 4th war walker, free up 70 points, and upgrade your Harlequins / AML. Get more Embraces, Kisses, get that 5th Glaive, upgrade some to AML.

Although most people don't recommend going with FP / non-blade with Quins generally, your stuff is all in transports.. and it gives them the flexibility to hit really hard in CC. Up your harlie toolkit a bit.

I like the list, I'm testing something very similar lately. I don't think you need shining spears though. I would see a third DA squad better, 4th war walker in, and 1/2 death jesters. Consider making your shadowseer warlord and giving him player of the twilight.

I think you're on the money about the 4th War Walker. Let 'im go. My only "problem" when I started splashing points around was "Why not one more unit of DA's in there?" Granted something about the symmetrical nature of 3 tanks with 3 units inside made me want to do it, but also another shielded ObSec unit for objective purposes sounds real nice. Plus the DA's do a low key good job of shoring the list up against hordes.
