Hello,

I am new to 40k. I bought the indomitus box so it came with some decent size armies. I am looking to get more familiar with the game by playing combat patrol and incursion games.

I have seen battle reports where people only play with 4 big mechs like this for the Chaos Marines.

From what I have read it looks like it could be possible that I could play one of these in combat patrol against either the necrons/space marines.

I understand that games are more about objectives so it would be hard with only a single unit and handful of others but I would like to know if it would be allowed on the rules to run a big mech with a handful of other units

It would be very helpful if you could mention how many units on top of the mechs I could have on both combat patrol and incursion.

It looks like I can run play combat patrol with a knight desecrator but I would like to get confirmation before I drop $140 on it.

Thanks

If you want to play chaos knights, then take a super heavy detachment and make one of your big knights in that detachment the warlord. Then you will get that super heavy detachment free.

At first I thought it wasn't allowed since I saw that super Heavy's aren't allowed on combat patrol but I just noticed chaos knights are one of the exceptions.
