Y'all know the drill. 48 hours to pick September's theme, and the runner up will get another go in November's poll (as October will be the usual Halloween round). Your options are:

Upgrade: From a questing hero picking up a magic blade to a kitted-out specialist toting the very beast gear to a creature fearsomely enhanced by technology or arcane science, your entry should feature models whose equipment or nature gives them greater capability than their peers.

Show No Mercy: whether driven by fanaticism, killer instinct or mere hunger, some pay no heed to restraint and offer their foe no surrender, only doom. Ypurentry should feature such merciless individuals or units.


The Long War: for some, battle is a fleeting series of moments, over in a flash, but for others, it is all they will ever know over decades, centuries and lifetimes. Your entry should represent this eternal struggle, be that through veteran fighters, machines that will outlast their crews, ageless or immortal warriors or anything in between.


Only The Best: Not every weapon or piece of armour is created equal. Whether it be a blade forged by the finest smiths of the age, or a technological arsenal that can level a city, your entry should feature models who boast the very best equipment, tools and weapons they can bring to bear.

I’m good for any of these, but am feeling a little merciless right now.

I voted for upgrade, but the model I have in mind would work for Show No Mercy, as well.

Opted for Long War, I have some options for that.

I went for long war. I could get something for all of them I think. World eaters for show no mercy, emperors children for long war, kakophoni for upgrade or otb.

If The Long War wins, I think we are going to see a massive Chaos incursion. No end to the heresy.

Voted long war. Will motivate me to paint my judicar conversion.

Got a 54mm Eldar Ranger from the Inquisitor range to paint. I think that fits with 'long war' on several levels.

Voted for 'Upgrade' as these Oblits won't paint themselves but if 'Long War' wins I guess I'll be going for a certain pre-imperial robot.

I was hoping that the "Death from Above" subject from August's subject poll would make it to this one, but since it hasn't I've gone with Only the Best.

Yeah I guess I just needed an excuse to finally buy Blackstone Fortress (which of course also includes some nice chaos minis, too ...)

I somehow missed the poll, but it looks like it's going to be Long War. I don't play Chaos anymore, so I'll just have to get creative. Maybe some LotR Nazgul or something...

Here was me lamenting that I'd just painted my only Necron for the August comp, and I don't have any Chaos models, but I reckon Harlequins would fit the theme (Cegorach's been waging the long war against Slaanesh for longer than the Imperium has existed)! Now I just need to find the time to paint some...

Went with long war thinking it would be picked the least.
