Hi guys,
having recently finished to paint my Space Hulk boxset, I now want to play it and I found those solo mode rules a few weeks ago (link in English: https://colorfulminis.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Dice-Roller-Space-Hulk-Solo-Rules-EN.pdf). So why not try them and share it with you ? This section is definitely lacking some Hulk cleansing !

Here we are:

So let's start this campaign with the first mission: BREACHHEAD

I have 12 turns to eradicate the genestealers from the rooms and at least 8 terminators have to survive.

Spoiler:

TURN :
Squad Lorenzo, composed of sergeant Lorenzo, the brother with the heavy-flamer (brother Zael), brother Valencio with the chainfist and brothersScipio and Deino, board the Space Hulk first, entering Turn 1 in the 5th area
They immediately form a perimeter, with Valencio going into overwatch, watching over the doorway of the right toom.

Using the solo rules for the genestealers, they may or may not move according to some conditions, including a dice role. The genestealers in the room that Valencio watches over do not move (probably waiting for a better ambush) while the ones in the room further left reveal themselves and open the door. Others blips are on the move, coming directly for the Space Marines, barely aware of their presence.

No blip this turn.

TURN :
Reinforcements come as squad Gideon breaches into area 2, ready to engage the emerging xenos threat. Brother Goriel hurries to the door facing the torpedoe and opens it, rushing in the hallway and revealing a blip (1 genestealer), while brother Omnio disengages by going on his right at the torpedoe's exit.
Thus, brother Leon has room enough to come in and the sounds of the assault cannon suddenly fill the silent Hulk while the 3 vile xenos that awakened last turn get shredded to pieces.
Squad Lorenzo splits, with Valencio, Scipio and Lorenzo keeping an eye on the room and its 2 blips while Zael and Deimo go for the middle room. Zael opens the door in the hallway.
The genestealers in the green room keep hibernating, or maybe plotting, while several attacks occur: having opened the first door, brother Zael immediately reveal 5 genestealers coming into his hallway when they open the second door, but they are unable to reach him.
Brother Goriel on the other hand is in a dire situation but is able to kill all of his many oponents.
Spoiler:

TURN :
Brother Zael begins the third turns by shooting not once but twice his heavy flammer, killing all of his 5 opponents, while the rest of the Imperials slowly advance in the spaceship.
No blips are coming yet, and the green room genestealers keep waiting in the dark.

TURN :
Brother Leon and sergeant Gideon rush to secure the blue left room, but in an excess of overconfidence, Leon shoots his assault cannon to destroy the door and then face 3 xenos, which proves fatal when he runs out of ammo in the middle of the fight.
Brother Goriel transforms the hallway in a slaugterhouse, killing another alien (with 7 shots, nonetheless...) and slowly progressing through it.
The green room finally opens and xenos life forms emerge from it and despite the state of readiness of the marines who have been awaiting them for so long, brother Valencio is killed in action. On the left flank, the two surviving genestealers charge brother Leon before he even has time to reload and give no mercy.
Brother-sergeant Gideon proves himself a more valurous opponent and dispatches the two tyranids with a crushing blow from his hammer.
Spoiler:

TURN :
Brother-sergeant Gidon block the doorway and goes on guard, ready to welcome the arriving xenos. Lorenzo and brother Scipio, after avenging their brother, keep advancing through the green right room, in order to secure the right flank while the two middle corridos are secured by the two two-men teams (Zael with Deino and Goriel with Omnio). Openong the right door of the room, Zael fires his heavy flammer a third time and torches a blip going into Lorenzo direction.
Now that Zael is the closest Space Marine, he is the target of the blips, that come to the center of the map.
Between sergeant Gideon and brother Noctis' fire, the three genestealers are dealt with.
Spoiler:

TURN :
The last blip is surrounded by the 4 middle terminators, who reveal 2 genestealer and kill 1 then go into overwatch.
Despite the overlapping overwatch, the last genestealer is able to reach brother Valencio who use the last command point to fire an extra shot after the genestealer failed his first attack.

Spoiler:

I tried but didn't find any free space hulk map generator, that would be very helpful. Do you have any ?

And today for the second report:

Suicide Mission

TURN1 :
The Astartes breach in with 5 command points and use them all to advance at good speed, while the first tyranids begin to surround them slowly
Spoiler:

TURN2 :
Brother Omnio remains alone and stands guard in front of the locked door on the right, having picked xenos lifeforms signals. The rest of the squad keeps advancing, knowing victory lies in speed.
More genestealers arrive lurking in the silent corridors of the sleeping Hulk.
Spoiler:

TURN3 :
Picking even more signals, brother Omnio takes a step back and readies himself for the fight to come, going into overwatch.
The rest of the squad has now reached the corner and brother Valencio secures the main hallway.

Spoiler:

The aliens eventually decide that their prey is isolated enough and charge through the door, enduring Omnio just fury...until his weapon gets jammed and the last xenos slays him

Spoiler:

TURN4:
Having a breach in the perimeter, squad Lorenzo organizes the defense of the main corridor with brother Deino watching over the rear while brother Valencio keeps watching the front. Sergeant Lorenzo, closely followed by brother Zael, advances from the corner into the second corridor, closer than ever to the objective
Genestealers now attack in full force on both side, but are quicly disposed by the sustained fire of the Astartes
Spoiler:

TURN5 :
While Valencio destroys the last xenos in the corridor, Lorenzo advances in the second one, and reveals 4 more genestealers, without being able to kill any. Brother Zael press anyways, trusting Lorenzo and his overwatch.
Spoiler:

Unfortunately, only one beast is slain by bolter fire, but Lorenzo isn't impressed and kills not one, not even two, but the three xenos to pieces (with 3 dice rolling 6's !).
The final xenos attack has just failed !

An interesting point is the following:
Spoiler:

According to the solo rules, when a blip appears, there is a chance it is placed 6 away from the "priority space marine" (here, brother Zael), instead of an entry point. I think it helps bring some difficulty for the marine player because the "AI" of the solo mode isn't as clever and forward planning as a real human opponent, naturally. Even if it might looks a bit weird and counter intuitive (as, even if you have good firing lanes, a blip could appears in your back) but it only happens 1/6 so...
However, being 6" away, it can't reach Zael and kill him anyway (correct me if I'm wrong).

TURN6:
Brother Zael reaches the control room and bathes it into flammes, winning the game !
Spoiler:

[/spoiler]

So far, the solo rules are pleasant to use, but the first mission BREACHHEAD is defintely not suited for it, as the genestealer player has fewer AP at the start of the game and should hide more than charge the marine player (who has to cleanse every room into 12 turn). I think the AI is kinda generalist, and will run better with some missions than others. I like the mechanics that the more blips there are, the more likely they are to assault the marine and that they don't just charge 1 by 1. I didn't know what to think about the "ambush blips" but finally they help bringing a bit more challenge for the marine player. One thing I will change is: blips automatically assaulting jammed marines. Maybe I overlooked it in the rules, but there is no way I keep the genestealers pinned by a single jammed marine, even if it is a blip of 1 alien.
I have definitely been lucky on this one, and I know the "good tactics" to use, we will see in the later mission that I didn't practice as much how it goes...

Thats a great report, godardc.

Hoping they do another print run of Space Hulk soon as it would be nice to give this whirl.

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.
