I want to give my ork warboss an attack squig but there's no room on the base. Would it be weird to just put the squig on a separate base and just stick him beside the warboss? Alternatively I could just put them on an over-sized base.

Under the couch

Attack Squigs have varied over the years between being a separate model and being modeled on the Ork. And Orks have a long history of 'sidekick' models that were separately based but didn't count as models on the table.

So no, nobody's going to bat an eyelid at it being on a separate base.

Mine is separate and on his own base. Looks better that way, IMO.
