Hi, everyone!

As a mercenary commission painting company, we are always eager to get interesting and challenging miniatures, those that you only paint once or twice in your lifetime. Today we are glad to share with you our last commission: Smaug the Golden from Games Workshop but not so golden this time…

When our customer contacted us he really surprised us with the color scheme he wanted to apply on such a special miniature, blue instead of red! We suspect he wanted it to play an alternative wargame because although we painted Bilbo, he did not want this model to be included in the scene. Of course the painting standard should be our highest one 5/5 “General” since such a piece of art really deserves it.

So it was decided: blue for the dragon skin, a cream/bone color for the wings and belly and a black alabaster effect for the Dwarf columns and floor of the base.
No doubt this is such an alternative Smaug. How do you find the scheme? Would you apply something different? Maybe the classic combination? Please leave your comments below!

Incredible work! Possibly the best rendition of Smaug I've seen - conventional or not. Very well done!
