Yes, it is the same game made by Spartan, but as we all know Spartan Games is no more.
Warcradle Studioes has taken over the FA system and has begun working on the planned 3rd edition that Spartan wanted to do, but never got around to do.

They have now publicly released the beta rules for anyone to test and give feedback(no rule is set in stone at this point!). If you dont own any models they allso provide PDF templates for you to print and cutout.

A cursory reading of the rules has me feeling positive, but I won't know how I feel about it until I've got at least a few games under my belt. Looks like they've changed quite a bit whilst keeping the core of the game recognizable. I was terrified they were going to rip out alternating activations so I'm really glad that's still there.

it has some interesting and fairly innovative ideas mixed with some hopelessly outdated ones like use of template weapons or rng-based reserves. The damage mechanics is interesting but it needs refinement imo.

This actually looks better than before.

The old meta is dead and the new meta struggles to be born. Now is the time of munchkins.
