So I decided to try some camo Sisters. Move over, Raptors.

Two tones of green here, the first is INSTAR's Alpha Army Grey (the armor), the other Seaweed Green (the cloth). First time using anything from their alpha range and I really do like it. Fantastic through the airbrush without thinning is really nice for edge highlighting.

Washed the Army Grey with Contrast Militarium Green/Contrast Medium 1:3 (so, very thin) then worked the Army Grey back up with a edge highlight of INSTAR Dust Brown.

Cloth was washed with Coelia Greenshade/Water 1:1, worked back up the Seaweed Green and highlights with Army Grey. Having the cloth being fairly close to the armor in terms of color helped mitigate the difficulty of painting the Sister's robes (fiddly), as it's hard to spot any errors or missed areas.

Black elements are Contrast Black Templar with Army Grey highlights, brown are Vajello Model Air Tan Earth and Contrast Wyldwood.

Looking very ghostly, though I guess that was your intention.

I would consider changing the colour of the bolter, depending on how strong a ghost vibe you want to have.

Very cool though

It's a well painted model for sure and antigue gold looks great with green. I don't think it works as a colour scheme though, mainly because the model lacks any Contrast to catch the eye. It's a sea of green and I don't know where I am supposed to look at. I understand that the camo approach is quite tempting but I would rather see the miniature than not see it.

That place is the harsh dark future far left with only war left.

I think some of that is the photo being overexposed a touch. It would probably turn out less ethereal with a white backdrop.

It's a fine balance, and I considered brown robes, but I wanted the full camo effect, which is something you just don't see on Sisters. I guess I could do more of the brown elements (fleur-de-lis, skulls) - which are supposed to be more of a patinated wood than gold - to give the eye something more to focus on, but I do a lot of bold schemes, so I don't really want a strong contrast.

Made some small changes, some basing, and a different background to get closer to true color.

I would make the cloth a dark reddish brown leather color. It will keep with your camo theme while breaking up the model a bit with some more color.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

I understand that people are VERY used to Sisters models with skirts colored differently to the armor, but I'm prepared to break the mold on this one. Sister's robes are now very dynamic (so they frame the miniature nicely) and I think I've got enough shading and highlighting to differentiate the armor sufficiently. It also helps tremendously with the speed of painting the mini, no fussing with subassemblies or temp basing to try and reach all those hard areas. It's a fairly stark scheme, I'll admit, and not everyone is going to like it, but that's ok.

Also keep in mind I'm the same guy who did this:

And this:

So you know I like monochrome, and this sister is less monochrome than either of those examples.
