Ok, so I have successfully grown my 1000pt army of Greywater Fastness Dwarfs into a 2000pt list. If follows a lot of the synergy I originally had and looks pretty damn good on paper.
Leaders:
Cogsmith: General (seat on the council), Relic (Macroscope)
Warden King
Runelord: Generals Adjunct
Runelord
Lord-Ordinator
Steam Tank Commander: Relic (Steam Pistoned Armor)
Battleline
Hammerers x20
Ironbreakers x20
Irondrakes
Irondrakes
Longbeards
Artillery
Helstrom Rocket Battery
Helstrom Rocket Battery
Battalion
Greywater Artillery Company
I think this is a good 2000pt list. Quite a few of the people I play with agree that it has good synergy and decent units. I have only had the opportunity to play against one other guy so far and he has wiped the floor with me everytime. Some of it is just dice rolls, no way to get around that. But I wanted to know if anyone had an opinion on how to use what I have above for what he has below.
2000pts Legion of Blood
Leader
Vampire
Vampire on Zombie Dragon
Neferata
Bloodseeker Palanquin
Battleline
Direwolves
Direwolves
Direwolves
Other
Blood Knights
Blood Knights
Battalion
Court of Nuhimia
How do I fight this. I have tried fielding on the back line, but I have yet to get turn 1 against him (again, just dice rolls). He is an awesome player who does what I would do in his position. We have had lengthy discussions on our army compositions but I simply don't see how I can even challenge him without relying on poor rolls on his part.
Please discuss.

You really want 4 rocket batteries in the artillery company, surrounded by a ring of infantry spaced such that he cannot get into melee with the rockets without clearing the infantry first. He is very loaded up on characters so you will want to clear out his units to deny his ability to capture objectives. Also remember that he cannot bring dead blood knights back. He fights better than you, but you can win the objective game.

First thing: Thanks for the response. The idea of 4 Helstrom Rocket Batteries is quite tantalizing.
However, I wonder if you understand understand exactly how fast he is. Blood Knights have a 12" move. The Vampire has an ability to give an out of phase move of 3". Then his battalion also gives an addition 4" move out of phase. His Banners also make any charges he makes minimum 6".
Quite literally, he shows up on my doorstep turn 1 with 2 Command Ability and Spell buffed units of Blood Knights that have flat delete 20 man units. Who also have 2" range melee weapons.
As I have stated before, I have yet to have Turn 1 (just bad dice rolls, ugh), so his Blood Bomb has continually charged forward and torn through my screens while his wolves run and secure objectives.

Given the 39" range of greywater rocket batteries I don't see him pulling 30+ inch charges he'd need to hit just the thing screening them. Are you deploying at the edge of your deployment zone, or further back?
He's going to claim center field objectives in the early game. You shouldn't try to stop that. Keep the rockets alive and firing and things will tend to fall into place long-term.

An update. I have since learned that he had been misusing the an ability, namely the out of phase 3" move. While this is a reprieve and allows me to get in at least one turn of shooting, I still hadn't had much success against him until I added in Gotrek. It's a lot of points in one model, but I was at least able to win a game of attrition against him.
I have been thinking about more rocket batteries, just need to cut points from some where to do it..... DX
