This is my Spartan themed Ultramarines. I have been painting Ultramarines for over 20 years and upon getting the Indomitus box, I decided to create them more in line with my vision of how I envision the boys from Ultramar. They have a little more flair, lean into the Grecian more than Roman look, but still retain that pretty blue color. I tried to maintain the immediate recognition of Ultras by giving them slight alterations while maintaining a unique feel to them. Minotaurs, Iron Snakes and Emperor's Spear boys don't waste your time, Ultras did it first you, are just a clone so save your comments

I have my Phalanx Guard (Bladeguard), Spartans (Assault Intercessors) and beginning the Veteran Spartans to start and more will be on the way.

You can follow my progress of my Spartans on Instagram with my same user name: Neverendingbrushstroke

"Unimaginably ancient xenos artefact somewhere on the planet, hive fleet poised above our heads, hidden 'stealer broods making an early start....and now a bloody Chaos cult crawling out of the woodwork just in case we were bored. Welcome to my world, Ciaphas."
Inquisitor Amberley Vail, Ordo Xenos

"I will admit that some Primachs like Russ or Horus could have a chance against an unarmed 12 year old novice but, a full Battle Sister??!! One to one? In close combat? Perhaps three Primarchs fighting together... but just one Primarch?" da001

Fantastic models. I wish GW would produce these! What did you use for the shield? Are those 3rd party bits?

Really cool, definitely breaths some life into them. I used to be an Ultramarines player but now I find them a bit generic, these are anything but. The round shields are really effective and that last guy with the plasmagun looks boss.

Awesome models. I especially like the Bladeguard from the second photo.
