Hi all,

I really want to give Crusade Narrative a go but I have a question. Is it possible to use converted models?

For instance I have a Bladeguard Captain who doesn’t have a sword and shield, instead he has a two handed thunder hammer ( Gabriel Angeles much ) lol.

So is it possible to use him for Crusade? If so how do I go about making his stats?

Thanks

have him armed with a thunder hammer. done

what I mean is: take his pts & look at what a MC power sword/shield costs, subtract from his pts(isnt his wargear included?). then take what a MC TH costs and add it back in. then use the stats for the weapon.

If your crusade group is using matched play rules, then I think the simple answer is "you can't".

However as its a friend group narrative game, and not a tournament, the correct answer is probably "ask the group and see if you come to an agreement", cos all that really matters in a narrative crusade is everyone having fun.

You could check through all the named characters for all the legions though, I'm sure one of them must carry a relic hammer that you could field him as. Unless you've already picked your legion of choice.

Yup, either take the above option from Racerguy, or find the nearest equivalent with existing rules.

So, a Primaris Captain with thunder hammer, you say? I'd look into things like a plasma pistol/power fist captain, and using relics to buff the power fist. Or even keep the power sword/storm shield statline, and use a relic sword to buff that. End of the day, who cares if it looks like a hammer, all you need are rules that *feel* like a hammer to you.

As an example - I have a Captain who uses the Tor Garadon model, but I don't play Imperial Fists. I just play them as a normal Gravis Captain, even though they have a massive power fist, because that's the most fitting. My Chapter Master will use the storm shield/power sword captain rules, but in lore, they're armed with a grav pistol. However, I'm happy for the heavy bolt pistol on the basic Captain to proxy for that.
