Hi!
Correct me if im wrong, this is how it worked in 8ed: When you had an ability that granted you and extra hit on a dice roll of 6+, that extra hit was considered to also be a 6. Right?
The reason I am asking this is because Necrons now have two stratagems that triggers on a roll of 6 and I wonder if they stack?
So one stratagem grants a unit " one additional hit on a hit roll of 6" and the other one " hit rolls of 6 autowounds the target". If I use both of them, will this mean that rolls of 6 scores 2 autowounding hits?

I would not say so. I would say that the additional hit did not roll a dice, so cannot be considered any number for the sake of any rules which trigger on a specific number.
I may be proved wrong by a rulebook citation, if they have something to cover this. If not, then the hit didn't roll so cannot have been a 6.

They do not. Extra hits never roll a dice, and thus do not count as anything. Your claim that "this is how it worked in 8th" is incorrect, it worked the opposite. It did work "that" way for maybe 2 weeks before it was pointed out the infinite recursion loops it caused, and thus changed. In your example, you would score one automatically wounding hit, and one normally wounding hit.

The previous posters are correct. If you’re looking the rule in question:
FAQ/errata for the Core Book, page 2:
“Scoring additional hits
...If a hit roll scores additional hits, those additional hits do not benefit from any other rule that triggered on the original attack’s hit roll.”

It is usually explained in the rule's profile. I'll use the Tempestus Stormtroopers doctrine and Thetoid Eagles Predatory Strike doctrine rules as examples.
Storm Troopers:
If a model with this doctrine is shooting at a target at half range or less, it can make an extra shot with the same weapon, at the same target, for each roll of 6+ you make for that model. These extra shots do not themselves generate any more additional shots.
Predatory Strike:
When resolving an attack made with a ranged weapon by a model with this doctrine against a unit that is within half range, an unmodified roll of 6 scores 1 additional hit.
For the Storm Troopers bonus attacks you need to roll to see if they hit. They don't generate additional bonus shots. The Predatory Strike bonus attacks automatically hit.
Neither says anything about it counting as a 6 - the Storm Troopers need to roll to hit, and the Predatory Strike simply counts as a HIT. No value added - just like a Flamer.

I will not rest until the Tabletop Imperial Guard has been reduced to complete mediocrity. This is completely reflected in the lore. |
