Managed to finish a bunch of unhealthy fellows this week.

Next I'll do groups of Beasts & Spawn, then maybe a Helbrute or two. Also thinking about scratch building some Blight Drones.

Veeeeery nice! I like the potent white and pink going on, really sells the contrast.

Thanks for the nice comments!

Here's a WIP thread on dakka btw. Might get the "EYE" Helbrute very close to being ready and painted today. Maybe spray prime and basecoat the beasts & spawn as well.

Fantastic models. Harkens back to the early days of chaos Marines even a converted Space Crusade model.

That is some of the nastiest stuff I've ever seen, and I mean that in a good way. Great work!

Oh my! They look absolutely putrid, toxic and disgusting... And that tells you did a damn good job! They trully look like Nurgles servants with all shades of green, some pink and rust. Honestly i can't wait for more of your work!

Wow!

Were you watching the 1982 movie "The Thing" when you were painting those up. Super creepy.

I keep looking at these little blight drones (slugcopters?) and just lack a proper word for how icky/adorable they are at the same time. This is like the best Rogue Trader era CSM army that somehow no-one was able to pull off in the RT era itself

Wow! Thanks for the super kind words everyone!

The Thing (from '82) is definitely one of my all time favorites. Haven't seen it in quite a while, but surely got it in my blood (pun not intended but noticed).
Btw if such warped monstrosities happen to appeal even more, please check these Possessed for example.

The little fliers (nicknamed Shrimp Drones) will most likely be used as Blight Drones. Slugcopter will also make a great nick for them!

Also the Rogue Trader era is a very, VERY big influence and an endless source of inspiration for me. I started playing 40k when the 2nd ed came out, and there were still lots of RT models around back then. Some of the first plastic miniatures I ever acquired were the RTB01 Beakie Marines, a Rhino and a box of the good old SQUATS! Everything still in good use. So, thanks for the compliment referring to that era, MobileSuitRandom!

More than the thing, they remind me of 60s/70s pulp weird fiction book covers - Lovecraft, Wiliiam Hope Hodgeson, Clark Ashton Smith, etc. In short, cool.

Thanks for the nice comments Horla, Denny & Argive!

Did some googling for those book covers Horla mentioned. Looking very nice indeed!

Incredibly cool and original! Exalted.

Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless and perfunctory gift nobody ever asked for. Unreturnable because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So you're stuck with this undefinable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down because there's nothing left to drink. Sure once in a while there's a peanut butter cup or a English toffee, but they're gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits of hardened jelly and teeth shattering nuts. If you're desperate enough to eat those all you've got left is a. An empty box, filled with useless brown paper wrappers.
