Hey, I am completly new to this game
I have played the game twice in my life, both with borrowed armies.
I have been a massive lore fan though, for several years now.

And I have recently decided I want to biuld my own army.
Lore wise I am a huge fan of thousand sons, and after looking online at tier lists and so on,
it was usually suggested that in 9th edition
I would play them as one or two detachments alongside the death guard.
But I got really overwhelmed by the lists, since there wasn't really any explanation on how you play or how to deploy them
and most guides weren't really specific, or they were outdated.

My first goal would then be, because of the local enviorment I will play in at first,
to make a 1000 point list of thousand sons + death guard, or maybe even 750 at the very first.
And to make get an understanding of stratergy and tactics involved, and ideally I would have a list
that I could understand as a new player, but that wouldn't lack depth, so that I wouldn't remain at a shallow skill level.

Im kindly asking if you could post some suggestions and any tips you have for biulding my army.
How do I design one, what do I look for. Intuition tells me that the way you would design a 1000 point and 2000 point army
is utterly diffrent, and I kinda don't know at all where to begin.
My local meta has an ork-main, two imperial guard players, and one which has custodian guard.
But im not sure at all about the specifics of the lists. If this information helps at all.

Cheers

Hi matey welcome to 40k, being a thousand sons player myself I can tell you they are a really fun army to play for sure! I think as far as where to start just buy the rule book and codex for the army you want and give them both a good read to understand as much as you can about the army and the game, i think you'd be better off starting with one army rather then a soup as you can just play out of one book and then when you feel confident add another army in the future, just my opinion. With list building I'd probably say start with a hq and a couple of troops choices and have some little games with friends or in store then just add to it as you go, there are loads of nice start collecting boxes out there you could start with and just build on top of that. Hope this help
