Subject: [1000] - Ultramarines - Need build advice

Hello, I'm new to 40K and I bought Indomitus. I split the Necrons with my friend and we're trying to build out competitively matched Battalion sized detachments <=1000 pts each in order to play Incursion size games. I'll post Necrons separately, but I'm looking for build advice for my Ultramarines. Here's the models I've got so far including added units which I would like to include as much as possible :
Indomitus Space Marines (Ultramarines):
Primaris Captain
Primaris Lieutenant
Primaris Chaplain
Judicar
Bladeguard Ancient
Bladeguard Veterans (3)
Eradicators (3)
Assault Intercessors (10)
Outrider Squad (3)
Additional Models I've Added:
Librarian in Phobos Armour
Primaris Apothecary
Aggressor Squad: (3) (Flamestorm Gauntlets only push-fit box set)
Reiver Squad (10)
I know I can't include them all. What should I keep/replace and acquire in order to make a solid 1000 pt army? I'd like to keep it under 1000 pts for now. My buddy has the standard Indomitus Necrons and added Illuminor szeras, Canoptek wraiths and Triarch Praetorians, he also ordered the new C'Tan Shard of the Void Dragon model (again I'll post his list separately).

If i remember the indomitus necrons and space marines are 995 points per army. Try playing a few games with those models just to get the basic rules down.it’s actually a pretty solid army for starting out with.

Thanks and good point. We've been playing 50PL/500 Pts Combat Patrol together since Indomitus came out - it's been fun to play with out of the box for sure.
We are hoping to expand the experience.

Normal Intercessors bare brilliant for ultramarine's with auto bolt files or standard bolt rifles both work I normally run 1 squad of auto and 2 squads of normal
Inceptors and Invictor tatical warsuits are great for ultras too
Personally a squad of 3 inceptors armed with plasma incinerators are invaluable they are a great unit that are an answer to almost anything you'll come against.

Ah yes! The "normal" Intercessors were definitely top of mind as well as a unit of Infiltrators with the Helix Adept (maybe overkill if I play my Apothecary though)
Inceptors + plasma incinerators were also on my mind!
Curious newb question here...why take an Invictor Tatical Warsuit over a Redemptor Dreadnought?
I was also considering replacing my Captain (warlord) with Marneus Calgar...does this seem like overkill if I'm up against my friend's Illuminor Szeras based list?

The invictor warsuit can scout deploy -- at least in eight it could -- and be in among the enemy on turn 1. Its slighlty cheaperish and it sort of isn't a real dreadnaught, so it won't get strategems or reslience like a dread. Also I believe its not core but I could be wrong.
The redempter dreadnaught, however, has -1 damage from all shooting incoming, which can make its 13 wounds function like 26 if you are being shot by plasma guns (not a rare event) and can throw out the aura to give rerolls for a cp, since any actual dread can.
Do you want to be up in someone's grill on turn 1, and potentially trash an important tank or slow their first turn move way down? Or do you want to bring in a more survivable firewpower platform that will, however, probably not get there near as fast?
In ninth, you could also start the invictor on an objective midfield, but its sort of fragile in that role, and something like easy meat for a lot of medium antiarmor assets.

I would look into buying a vanguard space marines start collecting box set OR what I’m personally doing is wait until the holidays and see if they have any battleforce box for the new space marines I did this with the intercessors when it came with 30 of them a master and a redemptive dreadnought overall saved around 50-60$ if I remember the total

Plus plus on wait to buy anything. The ruleset is in turmoil right now and units that appear unbelievable in combat may be half power next week, or double price. example? aggressors shoot 1/2 times as many shots this week as a month ago. eradicators can still double fire and are deeply underpriced -- but next month, maybe cost 60 each instead of 40 or perhaps lose the double fire ability. Or get nerfed to a reasonable range for their meltagun variation. Redempter dreads with plasma are "hot" right now -- but in a month, they may be upcosted 20 percent or so to force people to buy a new dreadnaught or tank. So all the redempters currently at the A- power level will become just b+ or b-, and the "gunner" marine players will often sell them off in a pile to go buy the OP model of the day. If you aren't picky about winning a GT tournament with your force, you can often buy whole armies for quite cheap as a result, as army after army gets obseleted by the continual power creep and downward revision that the high competitive gamers care about -- but that casual and narrative players don't.
