Ok so this list is based around killing of enemy scoring units, whilst having lots of scoring units of its own.

Can I use griffons?

Yeah, list looks fine. It will be fun having 60 guard at 750.

Can you use griffons? Sure. You'll find some players at the flgs or some tournaments don't care, but others do. I would only recommend having a plan for both.

griffin mortar carriers got legended. meaning no tournment use any more, and you have to convince people at the FLGS to let you use something that won't be getting rules updates and is sort of a special unit.

Lots of folk maybe won't be thrilled, but I have a possible fix for you. Paint a pair of number 2 pencils the same color as the barrels of the mortars, and if someone complains, take your 255 points of griffins out and stick pencils in two of them and say "wow, look, a pair of basilisks with 1 hunterkiller missle. (Also 255 points. So you could still play.) To emphasize the other guy is being a bit of a dick, put a small piece of paper on each pencil with a STAR on it and write the word "BANG" like its a cartoon cannon gun.
I am still much unhappy at losing my griffins (I had 3 as well) but it IS a way to have the same models still play without running home to get some different thing.
