So basically how would IoM (whether 30k or 40k era) react to X-Men mutants who would have superpowers stemming from their own power not reliant on the Warp? Would they accept the likes of Magneto, etc...?

Considering that allready Abhumans exist, and that unstable genoms, like beastmen, due to their unstable variations of mutations are basically not even second class citizens anymore....

Depends entirely on who discovers them, if anyone...! Many of the mutants have gotten used to hiding their abilities and are only found thanks to Cerebro. Then again, I guess the Inquisition must have their own methods.
It wouldn't be unheard of for some of the more radical Inquisitors to put the "useful" mutants to work in a retinue, but aside from that, I fear most would be executed. A couple of the more mentally powerful ones (Professor X, Jean Grey) might be treated as psykers instead, but that probably means a one-way trip on a Black Ship.

The 40K setting is facist with hunour. So the X-men tean would probably save a local planet only yo be killed for one of many reasons.

40K rpgs and books can exploit things like this better. Some few other options would be to lay low, get recruited by inquesition. Get recruited by chaos/GSC. Nids in particular would love to get their hands on eye laser genes.

End result would probably not be good either way.

I think most (if not all) of the X-Men power would be fueled by Chaos in the 40k setting.

I mean, what are the alternative? Do you think Cyclops have two nuclear fusion reactor in the optic nerve? Did Magneto have a series of hyper-conductive materials in the nerve system?

Most of the X-Men powers (not them all, but a large majority) defy without doubt the basic rules of physics... and that's what Chaos is for.

This, at least, would be the take of any respectable Inquisitor on the subject.

I can't condone a place where abusers and abused are threated the same: it's destined to doom, so there is no reason to participate in it.

Unsanctioned mutants are treated in specific ways based on how useful they are to imperium, and in rare cases based on ancient pre or durning heresy laws. They would for sure be experimented on and if found useful breed. If found too dangerous to control they would be eliminated.

If you have to kill, then kill in the best manner. If you slaughter, then slaughter in the best manner. Let one of you sharpen his knife so his animal feels no pain.

And the psyker would be chucked into the Golden Throne.

Probably used as batteries to stabilise psykers in astropathic choirs. There would also have to be some sort of breeding problem. The main problem with human psykers is that when they lose control and calm, their emotions make them go splat, with a no small chance of a mini warp gate opening near by. If a group of psykers could keep a psyker down, it would work even better then the drugs and rituals used right now.

It could also help with mind wiping or calming troops, without creating the sluggishes drugs cause. there would only have to be kill switch devices employed for a psyker to not go rogue. probably something like the ones used on imperial info assasins.

If you have to kill, then kill in the best manner. If you slaughter, then slaughter in the best manner. Let one of you sharpen his knife so his animal feels no pain.

They'd treat them the same way they treat ab-humans and psychers already. That said if they had power that did not come from the warp at all they would likely become a very popular resources for the war machine.

The Imperium has rules and laws but will also bend and break some for their own gain. The real challenge would be proving that you're not a warp influenced maniac

How the Imperium always react to mutants?
If they can be useful (like the psykers) the Imperium will use them, otherwise it will purge them.

The answer is inside you; but it is wrong.

no worries, i realised that it could be interpreted as impolite what i wrote... which would be ironic considering i myself struggle occaisionally with it.

Here's a thought...
Professor X, permanently plugged into Cerebro for plot reasons = the Emperor on the Golden Throne.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

They'd react with stupidity, evil and hypocrisy.

The mutants would be condemned, hunted bu the inquisition, those captured would be experiment in to discover the genetic basis of their mutations and then people would try to make geneseed implants to put them in the emporium's fighting forces.

Soon we have marines with lascannon vision, personal teleport powers, living steel bodies that negate the need for power armor, etc.

You mean in a world where genestealers mutate humans into hybrids? Genetic anomaly is not particularly tolerated. Unless you look like the most awesome cherubin ever and are destined to grow into an 18 foot tall giant with a 20 foot wingspan.

My WHFB armies were Bretonians and Tomb Kings.
