Howdy! Longtime sporadic lurker, first-time poster. I've enjoyed the forums as a resource when I'm looking up 40k stuff, so I figured it was time to join up.
I've been painting a Blood Angels army since March (now one squad away from 2,000 points, with another ~700 points in various stages of priming/painting), and I just started a Deathskulls Ork army the other day. Funnily enough, I haven't played 40k since I dabbled (and I do mean dabbled) in the mid-'90s, so at the moment it's 99% a painting hobby -- which is a new thing for me. I've painted more minis in 2020 than I have in my entire life up to this year, so I'm still a pretty inexperienced painter. Looking forward to getting stuck in with some games in 2021, though (I hope!).

Thanks! Before joining I hadn't really explored all its nooks and crannies -- there's so much here!

Hey there. Welcome to Dakka. What's your LGS of choice (well, in the non-Covid version of this world...)?

Thank you -- and howdy, fellow Seattleite! For hobby stuff, my FLGS is Mox in Ballard. That's where I'm hoping to play 40k once that's a possibility again.
I was going to ask if you played, but I figured it'd be simpler to see if you'd posted about 40k here -- and it sounds like you might be a fellow returnee to the game, and working on a Thousand Suns army?

Yeah, I got sucked back into 40k when 8th dropped (though never got a game in, lol) after having not played since 2nd, and been slowly rebuilding a Thousand Sons army. I've got a Tzeentch and Nighthaunt army for AOS, too. Had a ton of Warmachine, but kinda dropped that. Of course, several other minis games in the interim.
Mox Ballard is a good shop, and one I used to frequent in the pre-covid days.

I'm still getting used to notifications here not working like the other forums I frequent -- sorry for the delay in responding!

Dang, that's a lot of minis! I'm only just starting my second army; my first is about 100 points shy of a legal 2,000-point list (although I already have over 2k points painted).
