Hello DakkaDakka,

I finished my first knight for my "knights part" of my slowly growing chaos army and thought it would be a nice first dakka showcase post.

I have already started some EC CSM, and just bought knights because of the awesome models. Will probably play the CSM more, because playing against knights is semi fun in comparision. At least for us.

Anyway. I also wanted to play with enamel paint and white spirits for a while after I watched the Grimdark videos (and others). But I wanted it be a bit more "clean" than most Grimdark/Blanchitsu so Slaneesh is not mad at me for looking too Nurgle And, to be honest, so it does not clash too much with my more "GW clean" CSM army. But i might now give them all a pass and make them a bit more dirty. I love the more "cinematic" feel of actual battlefield dirt. I will post the CSM part another time.

But the setting is more or less the same: Barren ashen/stony planet filled with green and warped things floating in the ground (i am using resin cast possessed bases from microartstudio in the CSM army whenever possible) and green crystals. Turquoise grass. The usual skulls

The knights are perfect models for me to play with them a bit more pose wise, so i decided on a cutting him apart and making a more dynamic one. I decided I want a snake like neck, making him lean forward even more visually. Literally just used some wire and greenstuff in the end. Body, Arms, Ion shield and stubber are magnetized (so i can turn him a bit to look cool in the sideboard)

Full body view

Base

New head/Neck
Head is the kit one. Greenstuff wires as a neck. Necromunda gang bits as "sensor ears". Cut off bottom of one of the knights face plates as a "jaw". Trumpet from the demonettes as a tongue extension.

Side view

Ion Shield
It is the original Ion Shield, i just glued one of the weird pieces on that comes with the GW Imperial buildings. I wanted a more "tech" looking shield

Back view before tufts been added
Maybe will add a torn apart corpse he stomped on. Still playing with the idea.

Thermal cannon
Conversion/kitbash, used the kit gun as a base. Lots of greenstuff and bits. Some tubes. Some caps from pencils. One of the knights knee shield plates. I am waiting for my rust particles, will add some weathering and a burnt color to the barrel soon.

Rocket pod
The missing rocket launcher that should come with the model (Seriously, WHY Games Workshop. Why do we need to do this) But a plastic piece from the bits box, some tiny bits from whatever bottom of the box, and that glued on top of a non GW jump pack makes some nice rocket pods

Next step is ... painting the kitbashed Moirax, I think? Will put them here in the post as well.

CnC more than welcome. Especially on how much dirt and rust weathering should be added - shall i keep it a bit more clean?

Stay safe and healthy everyone!

Looking good A lot grimier than I'd expect for Slaanesh, but it works very well I think
