Hello all

I've been a wargamer since 1991 (and before that if you include playing with toy soldiers without the use of dice). I got into
40k first with a box of plastic beakies and then into Warhammer Fantasy with the Goblin and High Elf boxed set (4th edition). I fell out of the hobby for a bit around 2001 but I was reminded of how cool
40k is when I played the first 'Dawn of War' game (that cut scene with the marine running up the hill...) and have been obsessed with tiny soldiers again ever since.
Warhammer Fantasy was my game of choice but I came to terms with AofS fairly quickly and now love that game and the factions that come with it. I currently collect Stormcast, Beasts of Chaos and a proxy 'Cities of Sigmar' army that uses Greek hisoricals and mythological miniatures.
In
40k I have Orks, Marines and a Proxy Tau army (mostly using Machinen Krieger and Dust models + some Eisenkern Stormtroopers) that represent human mercs using slightly out of date Tau gear that they traded for. My greatest love in
40k is the Guard though. I've collected a number or different Guard armies but I'm currently working on a Catachan force using official
GW models and a proxy force using a variety of model kits and miniature lines with the theme of 'Pulp Adventure/Interwar Desert'.
This forum seemed like a cool place-Lots of amazing and inspiring threads so I thought I'd join. Sorry if that was too wordy an intro. Thanks for reading!
