Spoiler:

So, I'm doodling (is that the right terminology?) in Blender, and I made what I've dubbed "The Spider Pump" since a friend said it looked like a water pump, and it has eight legs.

Just kinda wanted to share, and see if anyone had Blender tips! One thing specifically-I had some cylinders that were at an awkward angle. (In this case, X 45 degrees, Y and Z -15 degrees.) Is there any way to transform them along those angles? Basically, sliding it forward, relative to the object, not to the XYZ axis?

It'll depend on your workflow, but have you tried using transform panel in object mode?

There's a drop down menu in the top center that says "Global" change that to Normal (or Local), and you'll be able to transform relative to the axis of selected part.

If you haven't already, give some online tutorials a try. They can be kind of a slog, but there are plenty that break down the basic functions.

Looks interesting. The only down side is that I now have a song stuck in my head... can you guess what it is?

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!
